I mean, I guess the reasoning is that it might relieve in country tension, which might result in a riot at the best, and foreign intervention at the worst

That's communism. Also, if Greece were to fall, the world would fall economically, capitalist or not.

No, communism is a stateless classless society based upon common ownership and a gift economy, it is a form of socialism, which is workers or societal democratic ownership of the means of production.

But, for this to save Greece and the world economy, everyone would have to change to socialism.

As Greece has discovered, the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Stop saying that! There's more to socialism than that statement you got off Wikipedia. It's socialism for the fact that the public sector completely dominates the country at the expense of adequate private enterprise.

Thats socialism in my own words actually.

A nationalized industry isn't always a true worker or socially controlled industry, rather it can be a state capitalistic or bureacracy controlled industry,

Don't bother Byzantium; LeninCat can't go a topic without pointing out differences in the actual application of socialist ideology and his fantasy version that he insists is the only TRUE SCOTSMAN. We're all just worker bees, man, we can't see the truth.

Anarchist Catalonia, Free zone of Ukraine, Paris Commune, 1917-1918 Russia, Certain Kubbtizes... ALL FANTASY!

The fact is, there is a definition of socialism, and if the so called application turns out to be something else, all that means is that through the attempt to get socialism, you got another form of capitalism.

So those societies (all very different) are equally socialist to you? Even the hellhole that was Russia in the midst of the Civil War?

Which not even self-proclaimed socialists agree upon. The fact that the biggest and most influential group of socialists on the planet have all been authoritarian nightmare regimes isn't something you can just sweep under the rug and blame on capitalism.

Because there are only two possibilities, clearly.
