    http://www.chron.com/news/houston-t...reaten-to-expose-cartel-s-secrets-2242068.php

So a so-called member of Anon was kidnapped at a protest in Mexico by a cartel called the Zetas.

Now Anon is threatening to release the names of the Zetas including corrupt police and military officials and journalists who are working with the Zetas to make the law enforcement look

I respect some of the deeds Anonymous does, but Anon has got to be careful if they're going ahead against the drug cartels, but then again, Anon are Legion.

    Any thoughts?

It will either a) be completely ineffectual... or b) a lot of anon members will wind up dead.... Not really a win win for them

Los Zetas are the baddest of the bad. They were founded and trained by hardcore special forces soldiers. And why wouldn't Anon just release the information as soon as they acquired it? Did the expect this exact scenario to occur?

If they release the info too soon, then there's no bargaining chip.

If you look at Los Zetas wikipedia page (profound journalism, I know) anon is claiming they had nothing to do with this and wants no part of fighting Los Zetas.

I agree since I would expect it to be really hard to go after Anonymous.

Seriously doubt that the cartels have the capacity to respond in any meaningful way to an attack by anonymous, but I also seriously doubt the ability of anonymous to seriously attack the cartels in any meaningful way.

I like how people dodge all the ridiculous shit that Anonymous raves about and only discuss the vigilante activities that occasionally surface. Anonymous is not some sort of political group in any way, shape or form. It is a ragtag congregation of teenagers. The only time they jump at the opportunity to target people is when a cat is in danger or the internet is being censored in Australia.

Look i get why Anonymous is doing but its just going to cause more attacks and more violence against bloggers and Journalist. Tough im interested in what type of dirt they can dig up on the drug cartels and if it can impact there operations enough to cause significant lose of money and life.

I'm fairly certain that anonymous isn't planning a protest in Mexico.
