Britain would have been a nation just waiting to have a revolution if it was occupied.

But the revolution would never happen because the Americans are so badass we would land on the rocky Scotish coast before they would have time to rebel.

We would land from Ireland which would declare independence from Great Britain and ally with us. =P

Ireland was fiercely neutral, even at one point veering towards supporting the Axis.

Could the Irish army put up some resistance against the Wehrmacht? Or would they just capitulate on the first day of the invasion like Denmark did?

There would be no need of discussing about weather the Irish army would of stand up defensively against the Wehrmacht. Yes, of course the Irish army would of easily capitulated on the first day of the invasion. Large Soviet divisions surrendered pretty easily to the German Wehrmacht.

Yeah, the Irish had two choices in the case of Britain being invaded and defeated. Join the axis or die. America couldn't get enough troops there in time.
