In semi-related news, my high school also began cracking down. I was told that this morning they brought in some scary drug dogs. Luckily I slept in and didn't get to school until afterward. One of my friends got caught with a bowl, luckily he scraped all the weed resin out and smoked it like the pot-head he is yesterday.

EDIT: Contrary to popular belief, this thread is not about whether or not Marijuana should be made legal, nor is it about how stupid my friend is or how much you hate marijuana. It is about the government crackdown on medical marijuana. At least, it is supposed to be.

Your friend was an idiot for bringing pot to schools to begin with dogs or not. Believe it or not most minorities hate the idea of legalizing marijuana, preferring it to be stamped out. Conservatives hate the idea of legalizing marijuana, wanting it to be stamped out. The older generation, you guessed it, hates the idea of legalizing marijuana, wanting it to be stamped out. I get harassed by pot heads for smoking cigarettes, they need to look at what they put into their systems. I do not have a problem with pot but it is NOT a wonder drug and should not be treated as such from users. I would legalize it just so pot heads shut up about it, but seeing as things seem to be going the other way I will work with them for the time being.

I am all for the decriminalization of marijuana and the possible use of it for medical practices, but i will never do it....again.

most of our money comes from Winery's, Farms, Mines, agriculture, exports, tourism, You guys are idiots if you think because Medical marijuana is being cracked down our economy is in the shitter, Good news It already is, but that is because of internal problems we have the 6th biggest tax burden in the states, and our industry alone is enough to get us by, but let's not forget about the THOUSANDS of private sectors there are, and the entertainment industry helps aswell, I do not know how a thread about medical marijuana became about California.

It just goes to show, the mentality and the empathy a government exhibits towards certain people is usually indicative of a far deeper perspective about your fellow citizens. This policy is targeting what are in essence "patients" and "medicine"; thousands if not tens of thousands of people, find help, comfort, assistance and treatment in a natural remedy, that shouldn't be illegal anyways, but they feel they need to go out of their way and declare another idealogical war on something that in all respects is pretty fucking low on the pecking order of "social ills". What possible justification could there be for cracking down on such a benign social/medical factor/program. And considering Obamas early campaign history and his permissiveness towards marijuana then, this shows him and his administration to be a compromising, hypocritical bend in the 5km an hour wind sort of government. Broader anti freedom policies are only possible in societies like these, if they are spoonfed to the masses in small doses, or the masses just don't give a fuck because it only affects a small minority or "doesn't have anything to do with them". Well to those against medical marijuana if you got in an accident and you had extensive nerve and bone damage up and down the left side of your body, I think you'd rather smoke pot then take Oxicotton for the next 25 years. Why? While oxi's are legal it's addictive, and destroys your health. As for your school shaw, LOL! Only time my school ever brought in the sniffer dogs is when we had one of our bomb threats. It was obvious they were making the best of the situation though. Idk about busts down there in schools but up here they generally try to catch stoners every once and awhile just to prove a point, but as soon as something else hits the school market in mass they jump on it fast.

This is Canada though, I also did an anonymous survey in my statistics class that indicated 90% of the class smoked pot, 30% of that every day.
