Auto-tune, unwarranted self importance instead of crippling anxiety and depression and the slow shift away from hard drugs. Loss of substance in music, all of today's music is about women, not about jockin' the bitches, slappin' the hoes, but instead about sobbing and general pussy-shit-cunt. Plus, those motherfucking raver assholes ruining everything with their noise. That being said, this only really started in the late 90's and there are still plenty of decent bands that aren't metal cunts, but you have to search hard for it. For example, Streetlight.

I read somewhere that 90% of music is about sex.

The majority of metal bands are comprised of whiny manchildren, I am naturally inclined to hate it. There are one or two that I listen to when I feel like it, but I just don't buy the genre. There's a difference between portraying emotion through an instrument and just screaming at people.

There are plenty of good metal bands, Mettalica, Megadeath, Judas priest just to name a few. and then there is rock both classic and what ever you would call the 80s type. Beatles, GNR, Aerosmith, ACDC, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin and so many more.

Chart music today is shocking, but there is music being produced for every genre that is good. You just gotta look.

Yes, but that's rock, not metal. If you want to list legitimately good metal bands you'd best start off with Pantera and shit like Sepultura. Nothing that you'd see nowadays. It's all whiny "emo" bullshit now.

oh thats right. that was a... scary time. there was some rock but there time was the 60s and 80s.

Mettalica and Megadeath are not rock. they are definetly metal. and yes metal nowadays is mostly emo or some guy vomiting into a microphone

    Mod edit: Don't double post

This. Recently, I've been slowly starting to broaden my music taste, looking for good songs in more genres. Still haven't touched anything like hiphop or classical, that's just not my cup of tea.

The only music that is bad is metal and stuff from the '80s.

Seriously, tell me a genre or time period you don't like, and I'll post an awesome song from it.

Yeah, no. Good attempt though. I'm pretty sure you're not going to find a decent artist in that sea of shit.

I think most of them are good, so I could post anything. What don't you like? And why specifically rap of the last decade? What sets it apart negatively?

Why not? What does it take to be considered music?

What are some examples of what you consider "real" music?
