Note: This is proposed legislature, and has not yet passed. Future threads will contain the prefix 'Prop:'.

Ok, let's get right into this. Feel free to add in your opinion. (I think the font is messed up, 'Cos I wrote up the draft in word)

    Proposition ‘CL-01a’
    1. 1. The enforced transparency of all legislation and amendment proposed, and passed by the tribunes. An exception may be given in ‘Critical’ circumstances, when agreed upon by 2/3 of the moderating team, or Stalin.
1b. the enforcement of transparency from the tribunes, regarding all bans issued. An exception may also be given in ‘Critical circumstances’ (See above)

    2. 2. A ‘Co-tribune’ system. Basically, two people may run in a tribune election as a single entity, one of whom will take the place of ‘Co-tribune’. Co-tribunes will also be given access to the Moderators corner, and will be put in the tribune user-group. However, each co-tribunes vote will stand as half a vote the moderators corner.

    3. 3. Rearrangement of the Tribune election. Although the previous two were too short, the most recent has been too long. I believe the current mode of nomination/election is too complicated, and should be simplified also. I propose that the nomination system be changed closer to the old way, where a person may nominate himself/another, and upon receiving 3 additional nominations; they will be allowed to compete in the election proper.

I believe also that while the time in which the election itself takes place is fine, that the nomination period should be changed back to 24 hours.
Campaigning should be made legal once a candidate receives the required 4 nominations to get into the election proper.

As you know, I had some plans for it too, could we go on Skype and team up on a plan, presenting it to the mods together?

Sure. My skype username is 'ComradeLer'. It's probably a bit early to voice-chat, though.

I like it, but I'm a little confused on the transparency thing. Is it that the tribunes must make their decisions public, or as tribunes they can make portions of the mod corner as they see fit public. I would like the first one much more.

I only disagree with 1-1. Transparency should not be forced.
Other than that, good on ya. Also, I don't think this has happened yet, but could you propose that Tribunes not be able to serve multiple terms consecutively? I think it would ensure that more members would get to be Tribune.

I don't see any problem if they get elected consecutively doesn't that mean they are good tribunes?

Yes, it's just that if that were to happen I don't think it would be fair to other candidates. Tribunes are supposed to be temporary.

During my last term, I proposed a term limit. It didn't get very far, but I was considering tweaking it a bit, and proposing it again. No guarantees it will get far, but I'd like to make a draft for the PA, and get some opinions on it.

@Leon - Basically, tribunes will have to copy-paste into the pa any propositions they make in the mods corner. They will also have to announce every time a member is banned. However, if agreed upon by either the the majority of the mods team, or Stalin, they wouldn't have to. I'm not sure in what circumstance this would be used, but if something crazy does ever go down, it gives them a little extra security..

    @ Skyice - Thanks man.

Edit: So far, the general consensus seems to be that while the Proposition is Ok, rule 2 isn't necessary/would complicate things. Can I have your opinions on rule 2?

People who complain about leaders forgot who voted for them. Stop complaining, and just vote.

How is Demon offensive at all? He's one of the coolest cats on the forums, if you can forgive his spoon fetish.
