    From the article:

Wonder if censorship isn't an issue according to the poll because, oh, y'know, it wasn't considered. And the reason it wasn't considered, naturally, is that the government wouldn't approve if it was.

The only issues actually addressed by the poll are ones that are pretty much universally agreed upon: child pornography should be policed, you can't trust information on the internet, and putting personal details on the internet is a bad idea.

And here's just some info from the article that explains some of the status quo atrocities that China commits against free expression:

If you have question as to the subject matter that was asked then reread the title. I'm pretty sure that the question posted and addressed by the research results are what was asked. That is, unless you are claiming that Pew purposely lied and posted abstract conclusions to the question of censorship based on other answers given for different questions.

Just because the answers given reflect the attitude of the 'majority of the world population' in relation to specific problems does not mean that the questions were specifically geared towards getting those answers. Under that assumption, no research results can be accepted as fact unless people scrutinize the research in every angle and don't accept anything as fact unless they did it themselves. That is ridiculous.

Again, the people of China seem content with the controls. In fact, the article even says that they approve of and support the controls. Clearly in their eyes there are different standards for 'atrocities against free expression'. So long as they support it, there is no reason that it should change.

Forcing them to accept Western standards would infringe on their national soverignty and without any doubt, cause them to utterly reject the West and the West's ideals.

You guys worry to damn much. This is the United States.
Ok, it passes in the Senate by some fluke of nature. It then passes in the House because it is God's will or something. Obama then has to not veto the bill and then it has to go to the Supreme Court to be translated, probably into nothing.

The information I posted was from the Pew source. If you'd have actually read it, you'd know that Pew said that the poll was conducted regarding non-controversial issues, including censorship. It was basically a poll about whether or not child pornography was okay. The results weren't that shocking.

The controls they supported did not include government censorship, as the Pew source says.

Though the topic of censorship was not directly addressed, with the data collected, the conclusion was made by Pew that the Chinese people approve of the internet controls. That the information was abstract is not commendable, however it becomes a question of the reliability of Pew in that if you trust their conclusion and their labeling of their articles.
The article does not amount to supporting the conclusion that the Chinese people are opposed to the internet controls. Quite the opposite in fact.

I'm pretty sure are are political elections are a joke, cause hey we got such great people trying to be nominated for the running to be elected president.

I think the only option is to give ultimate supreme power to Kali and have him run the united states. Its the only logical solution, that or nuke Bangladesh.

The simplest, albeit not the most luxurious, plan is to make Social Security work like people think it works. Money that you pay into the program goes into a personal account and cannot be touched by the government or denied to you for any reason. A general fund would not exist, at all.

    Assumming I have 100% control.

    1. Sign a agreement with the IWW and other Revolutionary unions to slowly dismantle the state with their aide sense I have complete control of the US.
    2. Immediately turn all business's and corporations with more then 20 employees into Federations of Workers Cooperatives, and because I have supreme control, give them to the IWW. Ban all inheritance, and work towards destroying all non-worker controlled business.
    3. Shut down all stock trading, currency trading for the purpose of speculation, and all other forms of speculation.
    4. Establish Universal healthcare, and education through contracts with Workers Cooperatives.
    5. Seize the assets of the super-rich and temporarily imprison them.
    6. Ban Factory Farming, set up plans to ban Animal Testing, ban Kill shelters.
    7. Withdrawal all troops overseas, set up plans to dismantle the military and allow unions to create militias.
    8. Legalize all Drugs.
    9. Crack down on Patriarchy, Transphobia, etc.
    10. Break up Congress, and all State Congress's, allow the Revolutionary unions to create syndicalist councils. Resign, give all executive power to said councils.

I think I'd be a much more progressive leader then Kali.

PS. After Lenins post, Kali suddenly seems like a great candidate

Rich or poor, you're guaranteed an exact measurable output for your work. Social Security is there to make sure people have some kind of retirement plan no matter what, it's not supposed to be a form of wealth redistribution.

EDIT: And what the hell is 'transphobia?'

I disagree, it is the very way to keep good living standards on entire nation. Would this be perfect world with unicorns, triple rainbows & more than enough well paid jobs in which every citizen has 100% capability to get in (Corporations offer free education or universal education like we have here) then I would agree. But as getting a job is not guaranteed - expecially in gods forsaken country of United States - I have a big problem with that.
