The Public Schools are fine. The reason kids fail is because of the parents and by the way if the kid does well in public schools he/she gets a voucher into a private school. I think the vouchers are unfair though

The finnish school system is from what im told one of the best, if not the best.

The american school system is good and all, but it never pushes the kids to look deeper and to think it just waters it down so much that a mouse can look at a paper and see the obvious.

The private schools push you more and Warburg obviously but the parents are the main problem. They don't push their kid to go above and beyond

So the kids have to pay for their parent's failure. How is that fair? Shouldn't everyone have an equal chance to get a good education and not just the rich who can afford private school?

THE PARENTS DON'T PUSH THE KIDS TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For Example: The parents don't encourage them to try or get A's most of the time. Like if I ever got a C on my report card I would be grounded. The parents don't do this to make their kid want to get good grades. That is my point. If I were in a Public School I would still be pushed by my parents because they both excelled in school. The parents of the kids that do well in school don't push them to learn more things wether it be books or the internet.

You didn't answer my question...Do you think it's fair? Just because your parents did well doesn't mean you will, and the other way around. The problem is that people don't get the same opportunities to develop and thus break to social heritage(the bad part of it)
Also FWI I don't really care if you get a C or an A.

It depends on the economic situation of the individual and other factors. I will probably get more then others because I am the first in my direct family (parents) to go to college, I come from a single parent household, and lower middle class income. However, a number I do not know.

Though because of my economic situation, if I were to get into an Ivy League school like University of Pennsylvania I would get a full ride. There are colleges that cost below $10K. The local community college is $3000 and free if you get into their honors program.

One advantage America has over many other countries its ability to attract scollars and foreigners to attended our colleges, its why the top colleges are all (except for one or two in GB) the best in the world. We get the elite from your countries and make them ours (which is why one of the majority of "illegal" immigrants to this country our college kids, who we then use to work for us)

I have gone through high school public, and I went through grade school Catholic. My experience in private education was different from most because it was a relatively underfunded Catholic school.

Went to a private Catholic school up in Michigan for a while, it was nice (tough very strict) and it was good to see people debate there own religion in a setting.
