What about the poor people who can't afford Gaming PC's and have to play RTS's on the console because it is cheaper!?!
RTS on consoles are not common and few have done good on them. One example is Halo Wars, the controls were excellent and the gameplay was awesome but it was underrated and got poor reviews. Some RTS's are just too complex to port to console, maybe this is the case but I doubt it.
Another fantastic console RTS is Tom Clancy's EndWar, but you almost need a microphone to play it properly. Anyway about the game at hand, I really hope they keep the 3 completely different but relatively balanced factions that was in the first Generals (though GLA was a bit underpowered). Also, I'm praying that the awesome mod suppourt user created content from the community and the developers is also carried over, though the use of the Frostbite 2 engine might undermine this. I had just as much fun playing some of the user created maps and missions as I did the official ones, and have played some pretty awesome mods.
Its "China will grow larger" Gosh.. Alla-Alla-Alla-Alla! x30 or Ak-47's for everyone! (Angry mob upgrade).
The Frostbite 2 engine seems to be as demanding as Crysis 1 was for the computers of the day (Crysis 1 came out in 2007 I believe).
While were on the subject, allow me to nerdgasm over Crysis. Trust me, Frostbite 2 is quite far from the level that Crysis was in its day. When that game came out, no graphics card could run it on full settings at playable framerates for the next 2 years. It became so notorious that the benchmark for whether you had a good system was whether you could properly run Crysis. The "but can it run Crysis?" catchphrase was everywhere at the time, as abundant as the arrow in the knee joke is now, and is still seen today. It was the best looking game in terms of raw visuals until Crysis 2 and BF3 came out 4 YEARS later. I find it amazing, in a world where technology progresses so fast, that the best looking game can be 4 years old. Its a shame Crytek shifted development focus over to consoles, and it really shows: Crysis 2 barely looks any better than the original. The following are actual IN GAME screenshots of Crysis running at full. http://deadendthrills.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/00076.jpg http://deadendthrills.com/wp-content/gallery/crysisbits/00108.jpg http://deadendthrills.com/wp-content/gallery/crysisbits/00105b.jpg http://deadendthrills.com/wp-content/gallery/eorzea/00048.jpg http://deadendthrills.com/wp-content/gallery/eorzea/00050.jpg Yes Battlefield 3 looks amazing, but the step forward it makes visually is a fraction of that of the one Crysis made. There was a Battlefield game that came out 4 years before Crysis, and it looked like this. That might put things into perspective. /end nerdgasm I personally like the way he said "I will crush" and "gatling cannon is ready". They HAVE to put these back into the sequel, even though it would be unsophisticated and out of place. This playlist is awesome. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE6D3EBD94BC15B6E&feature=viewall
Yes! Finally! Now I can be the Terrorist i always wanted to- *Crickets chirp* errr, uh, I mean Serve as a PLA General, and win the war for China! *Guns Cock* errr, uh, *gulps, salutes* Private Zhukov Reporting for Duty, oorah, Amurrica.
Now that that whole terrorism thing is elevated I swear to god if they take out the GLA there will be hell to pay.
Hell, if you simply take a look at what happened to Home Front. It becomes entirely conceivable that they may leave out China.
