Anyone Want To Help Me With Physics?

So I have this problem. (I am doing part a)



So far I have done this. (Which is wrong)

mgy+1/2mv(a)^2=1/2mv(b)^2

(9.8)(7.3)+1/2(9.9^2)=1/2v(b)^2

49.005=1/2v(b)^2

7.76=v(b)

Could anyone point out what I am doing wrong?

I figured it out, but I have another problem.

Can someone simply explain how to integrate -3x-5x^2?

Well, I used to be good at Physics and science in general, but then I took an arrow to the knee. No, just kidding, I abandoned it in favour of the likes of History and English when I got to A-level.
