signature content (a risk to some members?)

As some of you know there are certain people on the forums with medical conditions that may be at risk to GIF files. Such pictures may have flashing lights that can put these people in danger of a seizure.

If we are to make this forum a safe environment for those users i propose we regulate signature content so GIFs with flashing brightness' will not be allowed in signatures.

I support this. It's certainly a possible risk to certain people. Who knows how many epileptics read our site.

Well it's not really a bad back to break. Not allowing rapidly flashing sigs is a small price to pay for the safety of all possible readers and members.

Which is why I didn't use this.

Hey, don't feel bad about anything. We appreciate you removing it and there's nothing to feel bad for about putting it up in the first place.

You took it down and that is good, but hey at least we didn't have a Pokemon seizure disaster.

Personally, i think that GIF in sigs should not be allowed. 1. the danger stated above 2. They're fairly obnoxious 3. they make, at least for me, the forums lag.

GIFs will still be allowed in sigs if this passes but not rapidly flashing ones that could be harmful.

Good to see that the mods are taking this seriously. I just have the interests of the entire forums at heart.

I think everyone wanted it removed, it was nothing personal to the person it was just a safety concern.

As it stands it's looking very likely that we will implement this.

Animated GIFs should be banned from signatures outright.
