Writing columns?

    So I was thinking if this thing, Stalin said he wanted people to do LP's, reviews and tutorials to make the site more divers. But why don't we do more political stuff? Most of the forums are just political and historical, so why not focus on that?

    I say: let's start writing columns! The plan I have is one of these following models:

    1)
    - We (as in the people who run this thing) select people we think are competent for the job.
    That means, taking care of your spelling and grammar, and the formulation of sentences. Also, being able to provoke without insulting people would be nice, or not provoking at all.
    - We select people on their political ideologies.
    We will try to find a balance between the different major ideologies. For example, I'm a social democrat, and we'd get someone like Karakorian to counter that with more right winged beliefs.

    2)
    - People write a column and we post it on the homepage.
    If a column someone wrote meets the criteria given above, one of the mods will post, or give permission to post, the column on the blog. This way everyone will be able to post a column.
    - A mod will be appointed to post the blogs.
    The columns will be posted by a mod volunteering for the job. This just means, reading the column, and looking if it is any good. This must be someone with an objective look at things, not only looking at his/her own political opinion.

    Please let me know what you think of the idea, even if you think it is shit. If you say yes, let me know if you want way 1, way 2, or a different way.

    I don't think it's a bad idea to enable people to write up an article, send it to the mods who can check it for spelling and forum rules, and then post it either in a special section on the forums, or somewhere else on the site.

    Personally I think anyone should be able to submit, most likely via email and then a group of editors can edit and decide which articles to use, and then come out with like a monthly or however long newsletter

    I imagine that the editing positions would be open to all. However, if we are to create a newsletter we'll need to actually devote some time and effort into this.
