For those who do not know what it is here is my knowledge of it. I may be wroung on a couple of things here.

Indefinite Detention is basiclly when the US goverment has permission to arrest you just to THINK you are going to do something illegal. This bill is supposed to mainly be used on suspected terrorsits. But, here is the fun part: You get arrested, thrown in jail for life... without a fair trial. No trail AT ALL!

I think that this is stupid. They also try to use big important scary words to try to sound important.

    Indefinite- 100% chance.
Detention- Jail, Prison, POW Camp, etc.

Obama is NOT going to Veto this bill. I do not know if this is a legit phone # but here is the number to the White House. I have NOT checked if this is a real phone number or not.

Indefinite detention would be holding someone for an unspecified amount of time. It also has implications about holding you without charging you, but that's a slightly different legal concept. It isn't at all about "thought crime" like you're describing it. S. 1867 (the bill you're talking about) arguably allows for this in one of it's provisions, but you'd still be entitled to at least knowing your charges, and in most cases the right to defend yourself against them

Indefinite means "undefined," or "without limits."

Your all basically fucked at this point. Having full confidence that this bill will pass, you might as well in the meantime throw your constitutional rights in the garbage. About time the government started violating the old peace of document.

I don't think this is such a good idea by the explaination of Lighthouse but it does look like the American senate wants their country to becouse a police state.

Why does everyone interpret these bills way out of context and like to imagine the worst examples? It's not like they are going to use this to arrest everyone at their whim.

You have to look at what the bills grant authority to do. Even if they are used "appropriately" under Obama, it might be different with the next president.

The right to bear arms I believe. I thought bears had four legs, but then I don't really know much about yankees. Enjoy your bear arms!

You have to keep in mind Pedro that about 90% of human logic is things that are taught to you. From what I was told about this to how to use a fork.

The State government isn't even efficient enough to stop Tax evasion, and you think they would actually use this to full effect? They can't stop shit, and even then I can see states not extraditing prisoners. the US government has no real power, its a scare tactic that is apparently working.

The point is that even if they had no ability to enforce the laws etc.(which they have) They still shouldn't be allowed to pass them.
