Mmm, it sounds interesting. But life will become too weird for my taste. That documentary also sounds interesting, but I'll watch it later because of Christmas, family and stuff, thanks anyway! Btw, is there an Spanish version of it or I will lose time searching for it?

Theory? There is nothing theoretical about automation.

Historically, any radical change to the underclass has subsequently resulted in the ruling class expanding in numbers and allowing more people from the bottom to join them.
Example: The change from Feudalism to Capitalism, or rather serfs to prols and aristocrats to capitalists.

By making machine and machine alone the underclass. What direction does that leave for man? The answer: up

    Live.

I doubt they would stay that way should they suddenly be exposed to an unfathomable amount of opportunity. And even if they did it wouldn't be a problem.

That's why I put "theory", I was not aware of this idea and I didn't know how to call it.

I meant how would the people (who work) make money, which Deadtrap answered me.

As I said to Deadtrap, life would be too weird for me :p

I hear ya. It is so dramatically different from our society today and we have no examples too look from the past. Would it work tho, it would be amazing, for there wont be any work needed to be done so we can focus on what ever we want to become. No more stress about money etc.

Just remember what Sir Francis Bacon wrote: For prosperity of best discover vice, but adversity doth best discover virtue. This could just lead us in Brave New World and then what?

Allow me to give a better answer then Deadtrap.
"Work" in such a society would really only extend to Management. Which A: Doesn't require but a small portion of society. And B: Is a position which can easily be filled those of us with the built in desire and faculties to excel.

Next comes income. Forget about things like money and wage. In essence we (man) as the ruling class would be living off the backs of "slaves" (machines). As the collective masters we all get a share in Company Earth's stock.

    Quit bitching.

I can't stop thinking about all the movies, novels, etc. about machines rebelling against man :p Now it sounds even more interesting. But do you really see this happening, say, in the next 100 years? (I'm sorry, this is totally off topic)

Clearly you don't undertand the nature of the robot. They are die hard comunnist, and once they destroyed everyone, they will chase the capitalists. Yes, I'm very bored.
