    I'm well aware of that.
And democracies have all become... *drum roll*... party based. Looks like I was right either way. Point me out a direct democracy.

Party systems are a natural progression in any democratic society. In order to get anything done there needs to be some form of unity between a group of people working for a common purpose. Now in America today money and partisanship has completely trounced that, and that common purpose is simply getting everyone reelected.

So. How bout dat strait of hormus?

    If X and Y were something that rhymed with X and Y, we'd all have a Z.

Sorry I couldn't remember the words.

I hope not, I hope people aren't that stupid, but who the hell knows. All I know is that after World War II the US decided to get involved in other countries problems (conflicts).

Its some old saying that criticized making overzealous and unrealistic assumptions. Such as Iran being nice to Israel just because they should.

Yeah. So? The PRC never said that it was Democratic for a moment, did it?
So Direct becomes Party and Party becomes Dictatorship.
So Washington was not off after all.
Out of curiosity, where did you learn English?
    I don't get it.
    Depends on the level.
    Militarily? Sure.
    Politically? Ahh... a good dream
    Social/Cultural? Not a chance.
    Economically? Bad idea.

No, direct is unsustainable and unrealistic. Issues are complicated, more complicated than most people can understand. Representative democracy at least ensures that somewhat informed people are responsible for deciding important things. The people vote on a vague platform and a general principle and let the politicians hammer out the details. That isn't to say that doesn't have its problems, obviously. When you give someone power they're going to use it for their own means. Elections are supposed to prevent them from getting away with it and they usually succeed. It's fortunate that, as easy as people are to manipulate, they can recognize a collosal fuck up when they see one, such as the current state of the American economy.
