It's more widespread than you think. In Scotland, there's a clothing company called the Edinburgh Woolen Mill, whose merchandise, it turns out, is made in Mongolia by North Korean labourers.

On a side note, the host is a wanker.

EDIT: I take that back. He had every right to be a prick to that obnoxious drunk.

My opinion is that life is utterly shit if you're an average North Korean Joe.

I liked the host. He had a certain flair. Anyway, North Korea sucks, but it also sucks when you take a piece of it and put it somewhere else.

Awww, not this again. Anyway, this seems rather Soviet to me, not just because it's in Siberia. Such is the nature of a totalitarian communist state. Perhaps if they work hard enough, some of these labourers will complete the 5-year placement in 4 years!

Nope! If you work hard, you are kept there for the complete duration (10 years!), but if you are a lazy dimwit, you are sent back home in the next break.

    That is not Communism.
Just to cut this one short and not clog up this thread with other debates, please refer to the many, MANY threads in which this is discussed, both for the purpose of discussing it and derail threads.

I don't think there are a lot of lumber mills in North Korea, so I suppose they could use some, however, get out of Russia!

Well, it's what North Korea should be, even if not completely in practice. Saying it isn't is like a bunch of hillbillies saying the US isn't truly capitalist 'cos there are some people employed by the state and the rich don't hold enough of the wealth. (that should inspire plenty more rage)

North Korea is best Korea, everyone knows that the North Korean people are giving tribute to the land where Kim was born by doing nice fun labor.

I love how one of the North Koreans even admits to the lack of food in the country, but then quickly blames america for it.
