So, a few things have come to mind - Ask for donations A yearly/bi-yearly citizens tax/tithe Some sort of cost to become a citizen Bug someone rich to help us Or all of the above. Maybe if you donate a certain amount of money, you could get a plaque built in your honor?
I don't think you guys realize that micronations do not require any physical land to claim. Micronations are simply the fantastical creation of people like us to exist as each respectively sees fit. There is no UN representation, we are not recognised as nations in the global world. The closest any has ever come to actual recognition is Sealand. For those of you who don't know, Sealand has existed for over 40 years and has engaged British Naval ships with live ammunition. That is why they are recognized, they threatened actual war with Britain and thus received acute recognition of their existence. Numerous people across Australia have declared themselves independent of the government and declared that their land no longer belongs to Australia, all they get is unwritten autonomy from the central government who simply doesn't wish to deal with them. Micronations to not exist as real states. Most micronations admittedly refer to themselves as "Fifth-World Countries" since they do not possess any form of infrastructure, have no social programs and any instated are completely unenforceable, the government is disproportionate to the population and all central authority is typically powerless to govern. It's a game you guys.
You guys are talking about taxing forum members to raise money to purchase land in Germany. For what purpose? To literally steal the land from Germany?
Maybe we got a little out of hand with the mansion. But regardless, this micronation must happen. So, we need to get back on track here. How would we do this?
We don't really 'Need' funds. As Chives said, you don't actually need to own any land to make a micronation. We could just make Stalin's apartment our capital, if we wanted.
Regardless of where the micro nation is based, I'm all for claiming Brittany as our rightful territory. Edit: Also Somalia.
Nonsense. I just don't quite see the point in such a exercise. I feel like, if they could even get it off the ground, our micronation would wind up like the Wiki. By that, I mean a hardly used slice of our forums history that we fondly remember, yet continue to neglect. Also, I don't know if there would be any particular benefit to having a micronation, aside from being able to say we are one.
