Teetotalism and teetotalers (and a list of them)

So, I was looking at the latest posts in the horrible WAS STALIN JUST A FORCE FOR EVIL?? thread, and noticed a comment by battleearl about his avatar:

This led me to look up the word 'teetotaler' (on Wikipedia i'm afraid) and I came across this page:

Just thought it was quite impressive for what is a list of people who don't drink (it may not be 100% accurate I imagine). Almost like anti-alcohol propaganda.
Anyway, my question/point of discussion is how much do you lot drink, and what are your opinions on abstaining from it? (This includes the history of the temperence movements if y'all like). Obviously I apologise if this has come up before.
Me, I don't drink at all, unless someone buys it for me in which case it's too rude to say no.
With that, i'm Achtung, Kommunisten!, and that's why I drink. (except I don't, but I thought that was funny)

I have never had even a single drop of an alcoholic beverage. My reason being my father was an alcoholic and a nasty one, so I just have no desire to test how I am with alcohol.

I don't drink, but that's because I'm still too young for that... And I'm not beginning with it when I'm old enough... And apparently the Netherlands have a quite high number of youngsters getting alcohol poisoning (don't know the exact numbers)

I drink but usually not on schools nights. Just remember to be responsible about it.

I love all the people at school who either love to get drunk or claim that they do, its quite funny in a sad way. Personally I have nothing against it as long as its done in moderation and once a week or something, but people can't seem to do that.

Yeah, the same goes for smoking...

Smoking I'm alot more against because the effects can be felt by others via 2nd hand smoking, and also its far more addicting then alcohol and burning my lungs just doesn't seem fun.

You get used to it after a while.

Perhaps however my opinion is coming from my family's heavy smoking, Even got cigars as a present when i was 8. So I've seen what it can do so im not in favor of it, but im not going to stop you from doing it.

Liquor destroyed my father, and most of the males in my family, i intend to never become a alcoholic, but this does
not mean i will not drink any alcohol at all, past events have burnt the side effects into my brain.

To me alcohol tastes bad so I don't plan on drinking anything.

Another thing the Nazis gave us by the way; the phrase 'passive smoking'.

Where would we be without those Nazis?
Also on topic, I really don't like the taste of Alcohol that much, so I don't drink ever offen.

True fact: alot of the members of the Nazi elite really hated smoking and drinking.

Definately two factors which lead to lots of drinking.

I get shitfaced at any opportunity I can get. As for smoking, I used to, but then I started coughing, and that shit is unpleasant.

Still wanting for the day one of the mods gets drunk and starts posting.
