Ronald has access to all of the information regarding the incident, you don't (well actually Ler probably just leaked everything anyway, but you shouldn't have access to everything).

If we really want to get down to brass tacks here, the fact is that nothing, or at least nothing of any sort of importance, has ever come of having the Tribune system in place. Ler, nor Ronald really did anything last time. Still, if I had to choose, I would probably pick the one who hadn't caused such a stir, and a single mindedly focused all his energy into ensuring Kali's destruction.

To be honest I think Ler is kind of a douche, despite his good intentions. I'll vote for demondaze. Because he is among the few people on this forum who doesn't come off as a socially awkward asshole. Was this post ironic, maybe?

I like how every time an issue is brought up involving me, it's always the same people who stir up drama. The entire issue was undeniably shaky. Basically, Kali decided to report me for saying 'Death to Imperialist America'.

At the time, Kali was pushing to get me with seven points - which would have possibly been a perma ban. So, I basically told some friends in a skype convo 'I'm about to get banned' - Without revealing any further details. They decided, completely on their own accord, to hold a 'protest' in which they would spam the forums.

Fortunately, the other mod managed to push the points down to two, so I wasn't banned. (Although it may be worth mentioning that the entire thing was more or less against the rules. Accusers are not allowed to make decisions/issue punishments, without the approval of the rest of the mod team. Plus, I have had 3 mods tell me since that they would have opposed what happened.)

Kali decided to push another technicality though - Basically, a section in the constitution which says you are not allowed to reveal information on cases. Technically, the issue of being able to reveal information on cases about yourself is not specified, nor had it ever been brought up. I had no way of knowing what I did was against the rules. If I remember right, Stalin himself said that he felt bad about de-tribuning me, but that he had to, because of the constitution.

I'm sure this post will be brought up in the mods corner. Just to remind you Kali, this is not meant as an appeal, but rather as a defense against your comments there.

edit: Excuse the sloppiness of this post. just woke up.

Maybe if you weren't so douchey these kinds of things wouldn't be brought up against you.

If you're going to use that argument, I have access to all of that information too and I am not bashing his candidacy.

For the record, and I'm not even touching "the issue" you guys who were involved in it know where I stand, but for the record, Ler did try to do more, it was just a pretty inactive period for the mods. It wasn't even a targeted thing against Ler, as I proposed a series of election reforms that I think got one comment on them. The fact is, the mods don't have a regular scheduled meeting time, and when we do read on things, we don't always comment, and the pace of debate is usually very slow. So you can't really criticize Ler or any other Tribune for relative inaction relative to their campaign promises

So, Chives and I had a discussion. Basically, we decided that we both have the same ideas, and values when it comes tribune ship/the election, and reached a conclusion that it would be better if he ran for tribune in my place. I realize that this isn't going to put me in a good light. I'll just have to bite the bullet there, as it comes - But I would like now to announce my resignation from the election, and my support for chives in his run for tribune.

Thank you all for expressing your support for me, but this will be for the best.

The entire Moderator system on this forum is turning into a mess, it's not very organized, and it's causing problems. In my oppinion, Ler's not the only 'douche' here, not to say that any of you are, but that's what it seems to be.

    Or for me. :)

But seriously, can't we all just mature and forget this silly fight? We had Stormfront leave because of this thing, and I don't want others to leave too.

I have convinced Ler to stay in the race. He will not be resigning, he also will be posting about it.

So basically,Chelsea convinced me to stay in the election. It was a mistake to have announced such a thing, and although I realize this isn't going to bode well for me on a personal level, the thing that is biting me the most is that I let down my friends, who have shown nothing but support for me despite everything. I'm going through some hard times at the moment, I won't deny that - But I won't let that to interfere in me doing my job, if elected.

I realize some people are going to be delighted at the situation I've found myself in - I'll just have to deal with that, because the feeling of letting down my friends is far more painful. Thank you guys.

This is exactly the type of thing Kali and Matt are talking about. We all have personal stuff going on, but this is just an internet forum, your personal life comes first. Even Stalin has taken breaks from the site from time to time to tend to personal matters, so if you're personal stuff is a mess I would dedicate all my efforts into getting that sorted out. Whatever this Tribune thing is, at the minimum the people should always feel they have someone to represent them, and frankly being that this is the 2nd or 3rd time you've either attempted to resign, or withdrawn from the campagin, I don't think you're in a place to be a constant representative for people. It isn't like a moderator position where there's enough of us to cover if someone is gone for a few weeks, there's only two of you guys.

Let me stress that this isn't any kind of judgement of personal attack on you, just some advice that if there are things in your life affecting you in a negative way, you have to confront them and deal with them. The forum will manage just fine while you're taking care of things and I would welcome a clear headed Ler as a Tribune
