We all have to do an R.E GCSE, but it's mostly about social issues and Christian oppinions on it.

I don't find it fair for government to stop funding to schools altogether who teach creationism. Like with public schools, I can understand, but what about private schools or religious schools?

Well reading it properly you will observe that it says they will cut funding to schools who teach Creationism as fact in science class, and only public schools.

Good, because that would have been unfair. Just as long as they don't teach evolution as fact.

Good new IMO. But I do hope they can teach creationism (Not as fact but as concept.) outside science class. Like in say Social Studies or a class dedicated to Theological studies.

I don't see the difference it makes. Don't public schools already have to teach evolution? All its doing is stamping out alternate beliefs.

Not really, I suspect it's because the government here has made it easier to set up acadamies and private schools, and they don't want any fundamentalist crazies to be able to teach whatever they want.
It's probably also worth mentioning that over here, 'public' schools are not actually public schools, but are called public because they were the first schools to let in absolutely anyone who could pay as opposed to just the aristocracy. What you would call public schools are over here known as 'comprehensive' schools.

Dick move man. I'm insulted by the fact that you called me stupid. Therefore, I call you a dick. I still think that Evolution is a theory, but not enough proof to make it a fact.

From what I read all this does is remove it from Science. Which makes perfect sense. I'd imagine they'll still learn about creationism as a concept in Social Studies. And if all else fails they could always drop by a place of worship.

Yes I'm the dick because I agree with 99%(or 98% whatever) of all scientists that research this. I didn't call you stupid. Only the fact that you didn't believe in Evolution. There is plenty of evidence to support Evolution and we can even see it going on today.

I didn't say that I don't believe in evolution. I said that I don't think that evolution is a fact yet, but still a theory.

Well I am not the one to talk about this subject. I don't necessarily "believe" in Creationism. I just think we could be wrong about Evolution. It's still a THEORY.

Indeed. Which is exactly why it should be taught as part of the Science curriculum.
