Well America in our textbooks is generally seen as a backwards aggressive country.

Arizona refused to acknowledged it as Martin Luther King Jr. day until just a few years ago. We called it Civil Rights Day. Some call it racist, I call it trollsy.

On that point, [since it gives me an opening] I would like to point out that, in spite of the movement supposedly being for the benefit of all minorities, I have never seen a single Asian in any of the documentaries. MLK talked about the Chinese Exclusion Act a couple of times, I think, but I never really saw any Asians.

Caesar Chavez didn't do much. He striked and was lucky enough not to get the police smashing his face in. When they didn't, he was able to march on Sacramento. It would've failed, but random people, typically hippies, joined him. He got a few thousand people and delivered a meh speech. Then he got some minor consesions from the farm companies.

He got bolstered by the media though.

Ah yes MLK day the one time of year that singles the tradition into black history month in February where I get to be made fell guilty for apparently slaving the entire world, when if you tell anyone that your polish/germanic and have been enslaved too they look at you and scream "Racist" and then totally forget that slavery has been a part of history since the dawn of human civilization and it didn't just suddenly appear with white people against black people, however that being said I respect MLK Jr and his civil rights march and bring equality and rights to the african american community and as such he should be remembered and respect.
