Yeah, punched this into google and the imperium is the hands down favorite, apparently being able to pull huge fuckin battleships and trillions of troops literally out of their ass.
Apart from the references to TIE fighters and such, those quotes sound like they're from Warhammer. I don't get how the rebel scum were able to defeat the Empire. Anyway, the Imperium is meant to represent the entirety (or most) of humanity, (and consequently represents the good guys while the Empire gets lumped with the Sith) and despite its various flaws will not collapse unless someone at Games Workshop goes completely doolally. The Empire (which of course nothing can stop) meanwhile was designed entirely to be defeated. Like I said, I don't see how the rebels had anything behind them except the script. Plus they're in a galaxy far far away, and the Imperium is in this one.
They're definitely quotes from Star Wars. The scale of the Empire was absolutely massive. Oh, and even if they're in a galaxy far, far, away, the GE is also from a long time ago, and WH40K from 38,000 years in the future. In the total timespan, the Star Wars universe probably would've been able to advance so much further than the Imperium technology wise. Not to mention Star Wars wasn't designed to go over the top batshit crazy like the Warhammer universe (both Fantasy and 40K), the Star Forge, Death Star and Sun Crusher (Was it called that? I read a single novel on this, it was all right, I guess. That ship was kinda weird though) being exceptions.
I nearly puked reading this. You cannot, in ANY honest debate, win based on a hypothosis. And 'A long time ago' is not a definite time measurement. Einstine's therory of reletivity. Or as Deep Blue Sea put it: In other words, 'a long time ago' can easily mean ten minutes as ten billion years. That is no excuse. A crush is a crush, no matter how much you complain.
Then let's hope you didn't just eat. The entire post of this thread is to be hypothetical. Anyone can tell the Empire and Imperium could nor would ever face eachother, as they're separated by time, space and reality. Your point being? Even if "a long time ago" is ten minutes, you'd still have the 38,000 year gap between now and 40,000, not to mention the Galactic Empire already has superior technology than we do. Of course, I'm being hypothetical in a thread where it's obviously inappropriate, so this is all irrelevant.
Actually, I ate after posting. [not kidding] There is a difference between a hypothetical debate [of which most are] and basing your entire side on a hypothetical. True, but again, the time measurement is reletive. When I said 'ten minutes' I could have easily meant ten minutes from our present time as ten minutes from the Warhammer 40K present time. [Serious face] Yes, yes you are. LOL
Lol. Please, give me a number for the populatin of the Imperium. Please, do. Not to mention, the Empire was NOT defeated after the Battle of Endor. That is a slanderous lie. Hell, the Rebels weren't able to take the capital until.... decades after the Battle of Endor. The Imperial Remnant was around far after the New Republic had formed, and reformed. AND The Imperial Navy and Army are very.... very... large. Very.
Well, that's about the vaguest thing ever. I'm gonna round up and say the Imperium has a total population of less then, meh, a quadrillion. And the Imperium has around a million planets... sound about right?
No. I don't have an exact number, so I cannot confirm any total population. But from what I do know, the population is greater than that of a quadtrillion.
Oh sorry, looked it up, it's at least 10 quadrillion, and is roughly in that area. That means the Empire's bigga.
Please source. And please, refrain from using wiki's when ever possible. Also, please remember to check what is canon in the SW universe and what is not. There are limits to every person's patience. Please source proof of Imperial size.
Wiki's are a good thing. Again, you double post. Again, you refuse [or fail to] cite a source. Edit: Also, why are you not posting in the 'Warhammer 40K v. Star Wars' thread?
sorry, you replied here. And sorry about that, it's a very long page, and i just quoted. I'll give it to you, on esec
Well, one thing we should be able to agree on that both the Imperium and Empire are ruled by rotting corpses, or at least things that resemble them.
