This isn't a case of a cameraman not being able to support his family because of piracy. Its a case of a studio executive not being able to build a life size 24 carat gold statue of himself , instead he has to due with a 22 carat one.

But he'd sooner cut that cameraman's salary then build the 22 karat statue.

Even so, what gives you the right to deprive him of his money? Are we to assume that we're all some sort of modern day Robin hoods?

@FeyBart's remark on the previous page
Conservative in the context Pedro was using it has nothing to do with ideology. It's the opposite of 'generous' and essentially means 'lower than the median.'

    Stopping piracy wont stop greed.

Him building a 24 carat statue of himself does.

I don't think you can use the ridiculousness of your strawman to justify the ridiculousness of your 'solution...'

It was an example to make a point. It wasn't fare of either.

He should be penalized fore being a greedy fuck.

I guess I phrased it wrong. It was an extreme example to make my point easier. Plus I think I saw it on South Park.

    Just to clear this up:
    1. The laws of the US is not the laws of the world. While it might be illegal to share copyrighted material in the US, it's not illegal in ALL other countries.
    2. If I were to pirate something, I would (in theory) use a torrent because it's so much easier and faster than downloading from a site like MEGA. Also what Pedro said about them making money on it.
    3. Could those who say "the cameraman can't feed his family because he has lost his job because of piracy please give me some links? Otherwise you might just be pulling it out of your ass.

It's all in the indictment I posted here and in the other thread. There's been between 120,000-135,000 lost jobs as a result of piracy in the movie industry alone

I can't say I read that(I forgot about it, sorry), but aren't those figures in theory. What I mean is, wouldn't that be if every pirated movie/game/song would have been bought instead?

While a lot of countries disagree on the particulars of intellectual property laws, virtually everyone but third world hellholes recognize piracy as a crime. And seriously, it is. It's theft, through and through, and to deny that is to delude yourself utterly.

What Piracy being Theft, that is like impossible. Next you are going to tell me there is a World anti-piracy observatory.
