So I was watching "The Eagle" Sunday Night, and I found it very well made. Basically if you have not seen it, it is about a Roman going into Scotland with his slave to retrieve a lost eagle standard from a battle where a Roman army under the command of his father was basically massacred. The slave happens to be the son of one of the chieftains of one of the tribes fighting in the battle, who died in said battle. It is a great movie in my opinion, and I wanna know what you guys think or thought about it.

    Here is the trailer:

I saw the trailer while at the cinema ages ago, me and my mates thought it'd be worth going to see, but we never got round to it. A film about Roman Britain with no mention of King Arthur? Sounds alright to me.

They probably managed to shoehorn him in anyway somehow. I reckon some guy towards the end of the film says 'I know, I shall get my son to tell his son to tell his son to name his grandson Arthur.'

Well at the end he frees his slave and they become slaves and he says to the roman dudes " He is not my slave." And then they walk away asking each other what they are gonna do next...

I am a roman fanatic who can enjoy any movie that has anything to do with the Roman Empire, so I really Liked this move.

How are the battle scenes, in terms of scale, choreography and epicness?
Honestly thats all I really care about. There are few things I like more than a large battle scene, particularly from ancient times.

There are not many major battle scenes. And the "major" ones are only like 10 on 20 or something similar. Still though, it is not about battles necessarily, and I would still recommend seeing it. They might show the ambush that started the whole thing in the beginning, although I am not sure as I have never seen the beginning.
