I like to think I'm treating them like a government, which they are. They are the police force for the forum, and you and the dutch guy are our representatives. That's how I feel about it.

So because you are certain there should be one, others can't argue there shouldn't?
Really, I get your point with this code, but the way you handle this is wrong. Like said before, you can make this thread, but you should present a plan immediately, so the discussion will be more about the content of the plan than if we really need to make one. Second of all, you should put in a poll on the subject in the thread. And third of all, you should contact us and a few mods if we even support this. Then we see people really care, and it's not just a 'what if'-suggestion. But really, don't immediately complain if we don't fight for this plan without asking, that only annoys us, and causes us to stop caring.
You probably know I don't agree on the opinion that Kali goes around insulting and harassing people, but you have a point, and I'd be more than glad to help something to be done about it, but if you feel this should be all our initiative, I'm sorry. It's your initiative, and as long as there isn't even a plan, I can't help you. I can also help you making a plan, and I'm sure Rom'd be glad to help too, but again, it's all up to you.
You and the Dutch guy... -_-'

Tsk tsk Mr. Dutchman, you overestimate your position these things take time, so all we can do is be patient.

You're right, I probably did go about this the wrong way. However, I thought that the code of conduct was a sure thing that was happening. I just wanted to throw some suggestions in to help Stalin (or whoever else) write it.

Again, you're right. I should have presented a plan of some sort. I would not only be happy for your help but for the help of every user on the forum, mod or normal user alike.

    :D

So, it's not too late to send us a PM. That's easier for debating, you know.

THE DUTCHMASTERRACE HAS NO TIME FOR YOUR PETTY CONCERNS

Anyway, literally no one objects, so we're waiting on someone to put this on the Mod's Corner. Damnit Tribunes, this is why you exist.

So yeah since I've been gone for the last 2 or 3 days with a terrible disease called lack of dutch, what have I missed in terms of the Code of Conduct for the mods?

Again, if he wants this done, he, or you for that matter, should send me a PM so we can discuss the plan and how to do this. In this form it doesn't stand a chance to get through.

PMs are for people with things to hide and I have nothing to hide from the people.

    My Code of Conduct:
[intro paragraph (someone who can actually write should do this)]

    1. No Active Moderator or Active Tribune shall insult another user. Directly or indirectly.
    2. No Active Moderator or Active Tribune shall participate in the act of Trolling.
    3. No Active Moderator or Active Tribune shall swear beyond excessively [basically you can't flip your shit and cuss someone out] while on the forum (with exceptions to PMs and the Mod's Corner).
    4. No Active Moderator or Active Tribune shall leak information regarding the Mod's Corner, issues discussed inside of it, information regarding user appeals and infractions, or anything relevant. When in doubt, ask someone else in the Mod's Corner.
    5. No Active Moderator or Active Tribune shall commit defamation of (or otherwise insult) any ideology, religion, race, culture, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or a person, real or not, forum member or not, whom follows them.

I see that as simple enough.

So mods just can't say anything at all, ever.

Well you can't insult, leak information, swear excessively, or troll. Not to mention none of it applies in the Mod's Corner or in PMs (except leaking information, and as long as your not harassing someone).

Banning 'indirect insults' and trolling means that we can't ever say anything that makes anyone feel bad. And anything can make someone feel bad. Not to mention the prohibition on talking about things critically, ever.

    1. There is no need for one as it is covered by the insult rule.
    2. Trolling doesn't harm anyone.
    3. Normal members can do it so can we.
    4. This really isn't needed.
    5. So necessarily we can't express our opinions freely.

No you can't. That's the entire point of a code of conduct.

Well, I think we need to clarify something: Are moderators even allowed to post under this code of conduct? I think we need to recognize that they are volunteers, after all. They are here to post, not to cater to your whims of self-persocution. And if you were to pass a code of conduct, they'd never be able to post anything because of you guys sensitive and fragile nature.

Given you basically have to call someone a fucking prick to have "insulted them", I think the rule could stand to be stricter for mods.
Again, your supposed to set a better example.
Again, your supposed to set a better example. That's the whole point of the Code of Conduct. Is being able to cuss out a member in a public thread really such a vital right to you?
You wouldn't believe the amount of information that gets leaked out on a daily bases. If you just have a conversation with one of the mods/tribunes for a long enough time they'll eventually slip SOMETHING out. I mean, as long as your not stupid about it and they don't know what your doing.
No, you just can't do it in a way that is deconstructive and offensive. For instance, 'Kali's Communism - Dirty or Stupid and Dirty?' thread.

Why? Says who? We have to perform an administrative role. We do not set some kind of example. We are not 'representatives of the site'. We're members who have to do a job, that's it.
