Just found out that Chives was banned and wondered why there wasn't a list detailing people who are banned - temporarily or permanently?

(If I've simply missed where this is, can a mod post a link and lock the thread.)

I don't think we need to publish a list of all bans as people find out anyways.

I don't see the reason to list temporary bans, if the banned user wants to say he's been banned then he can when he comes back. If he does not want people to know, then we probably shouldn't.

However I agree with listing perma bans, there really is no reason not to. Aside from spambots and the like.

I don't really see a reason too. Maybe listing perma-bans, but I really don't think temporary bans should be listed because there most likely going to come back after there ban anyway. Also really how many perma-bans have there been?

this isn't exactly the best idea we could be putting here but if we provided each perma ban notification with an exact reason it could explain to new users what they did wrong

Well, the people who have been perma-banned are Napoleon, Chives, Che, and spam bots. Mystery achieved. This isn't really a issue, but I guess if you guys are that desperate for info, we could let you know right away, despit the fact that we have never been tight lipped about the matter.

Because he made his own site and advertised it here. The mods had nothing to do with the ban, it came from the big man himself.
