I know this is old news that Will Smith said he is making a remake of the Korean film Oldboy that was only released 9 years ago and happens to be one of my favourite films of all time. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried a little when I heard this news because I was just so angry then I completely forgot about but last week I remembered again and I am still so angry!! All that I know of it so far is that Josh Brolin is rumoured to play the lead and Spike Lee is going to Direct. Now I know that Brolin is a very talented actor and No Country For Old Men is a great film and of course The Goonies =D and Lee is unquestionably one of the most influential directors that ever lived. The only down side is Will Smiths involvement as producer now if anyone forgets the last film Mr Smith produced it was the karate kid the film which meant I could never again look at Jackie Chan or watch the original films because the magic was just gone from them and what little soul I had left depleted. Will Smith is not only remaking he's "changing" it he's making the ending "darker" than the originals if anyone has ever seen this film you should probably be the most confused you have ever been in your life as I am. I'm not here to spoil it you can look it up if you are that interested enough you'll find it some where. Also if they do the famous long shot fight scene I will actually find out where Will Smith lives and fight him in a gladiatorial battle to the death with the claw hammer from the original! That is why I really do not want this to go ahead and be complete. I'm I the only one who feels this way or is anyone who reads this just thinking what the fuck is Oldboy? Now I know how people who grew up with the original Star Wars films feel :L
