Israel and Iran - Will we see air strikes soon?

All indicators are leading towards Israeli air strikes on Iran. America seems hesitant to stop us, and the Knesset is overwhelmingly in favor of such actions. And, from my personal experience, it would appear that we are being geared up for ground operations as well. I was issued new weapons and gear last week, only three years after my last shipment. It's normally a five year cycle. Seems suspicious.

On a more personal note, I found out that my wife won't be up for re-conscription, so if shit does go down, I'm gonna be shipping her to the US. Unfortunately, I'm back up, and due to serve again. How fun. Hopefully everything can be avoided, but it's looking gloomy right now.

In the next month or two. Would be awesome if you guys do it on Valentine's Day for me.

That would kinda blow. I want to get laid on Valentines Day, not shot at. Seems to be the general sentiment out of my unit anyway.

I was talking about airstrikes on the nuclear facilities. But I guess they mobilize you before they do the strikes.

So are you getting those passports out?

If they did the airstrikes, I would be on fully duty, considering my position. That doesn't mean there would be ground operations, but I would still be uncomfortably close to a lot of angry brown people.

Sending them to Canada or US?

I have a house in NC. Right now, that's option number one. Plus I have some family there that can eyeball them.

One of my best friends is originally from Rehovot. He's also been pretty concerned for his friends that are still back there.

If it does happen hopefully it will just be another Operation Opera and end there but probably not.

I hope a conflict is avoided. As an airstrike and the stuff that follows will result in alot of pointless deaths and a fourm member being deployed. A question to matt though. Arn't you training to be a rabbi? Doesn't that exclude you from compolsury/conscription service? I'm asking because i know preists here in Norway arn't requierd to conscript.

Well, I've finished the preliminary, and base training. I'm officially licensed now. Either way, Sayaret don't get exclusion rights, except under certain circumstances.

I bloody hope not. How strong is Iran militarily? The US doesn't tend to attack countries who can fight back, and I doubt Israel would act without US approval.

Iran's military could be overrun fairly easily but there would be heavy casualties.
