From creators of cult hit Star Wreck is coming a new movie: Iron Sky! It's out 4.4.2012 and it has already been sold out. Arguably the best movie of this year. Personally I cant wait to see it.
How can you say that about a movie that hasn't been released yet? Bugs me when people say stuff like that about games and movies that aren't out yet.
He says that because he really likes the subject matter. He doesn't truly believe it will be generally regarded by critics as the best movie of the year, it's more a strange modern figure of speech. like when those girls say "OMG Twilight is like the best movie like ever". Anyway, what is Iron Sky all about?
In 1945 nazis evacuated to the dark side of the moon and in 2018 they are coming back for revenge. For the record: I think this will be one of the better movies this year and pretty sure a contestant for movie of the year.
It looks to be very interesting, and I'm definitely going to watch this one. I don't know how it'll weigh up to The Dark Knight Rises and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, though. But I'm expecting these'll be my top 3 of 2012.
Oh yeah those two are coming this year. I might have to withdraw my previous statement, but I still expect this to be a better movie of the year. (Hobbit might be lame, unless its like 1st LOTR)
From what I've seen from the trailer, it looks amazing. I'm not entirely sold on the look of the dwarves, though, some seem edited with computers, others not, it's kinda weird. But if they can make them as epic as the LotR movies, I'm happy.
I hope that there are some battle scenes, tho I do like treasure hunter Indiana Jones kind of action too.
In the Hobbit or Iron Sky? I do think there's some fighting in the Hobbit, especially the massive one at the end of the second movie.
It would be good, except they are making it into a stupid comedy, which to me at least, kinda ruins the whole idea.
Wait, there is a conspiracy theory that the nazis are on the moon waiting to invade earth? @D3adtrap I just don't think it would make a good comedy, but I guess we'll find out.
Well, not exactly on the moon, but there are plenty of conspiracy theories about nazis. Them being on Antarctica, for example.
Man I was just thinking of making a thread about Iron Sky! Also I'd like to know: 1. How many people here have heard of this film before? (I have) 2. Who'd like to see the film? (I would) 3. Who's been waiting for the film for years? (I have) 4. Who has seen Rare Exports? And to those who don't know about it: Iron Sky is the most expensive Finnish movie ever made (it's Finnish-German-Australian co-production), it's been in making for six years by now, it's dark sci-fi comedy/sci-fi parody.
