    Yeah...
'Accused' and 'proved to have' are two different things.
The mere implication that the UK is deploying at such a level will have international fallout, let alone actually using it.
I personally am doubtful that the UK is so stupid. They know that the Falklands are not worth risking an international incident with... everybody.

I don't doubt it, I think the UK would do it. But just cause you have a nuclear sub in the region doesn't matter TOO TOO much. Just think how many nuclear subs the US must have around the world right now...;)

I know that Australia banned US nuclear subs in their water.

Though, all truth be told, a nuke-armed sub won't do the UK one **** favor if Argentina actually invades the Falklands since if they are going to nuke, they may as well nuke themselves as face the international diplomatic fallout from using a nuclear device.

No, but really I can't see the UK nuking the Falklands.

If they actually did deploy a nuclear submarine there however, it makes you wonder if they are actually crazy enough to do it.

Yeah, but the international fallout would really hurt the UK.

Good lord Argentina, even if the entirety of the Falklands screamed "We like Britain better!" they would still throw a fit. Yes I blame Argentina. This is UK territory. If Argentina knows what is good for them they need to pack up and go home. Long live Britannia!

Just take a look at the population on Argentina. 61% Falkland Islander, 29% British, 2.6% Spanish, 0.6% Japanese, 6.5% Chilean or other. Oh, and the Falklands are a self governing territory, all the British are responsible for is defense and foreign affairs.

PS. Falkland Islanders are very similar to British it appears: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falkland_Islander
About 70% of them are of British descent, with the rest of other European descent.

oh lol argentina is behaving like a anoyign little sister.
first they step up their political rhetoric about the falklands and then they start complaining when the english flex their muscles.
Also sending a nuclear sub is a strong psychological sign, it shows all the hardliners who advocate a invasion of the malivinas in argentina, that theoreticaly they could be wiped of the map and that they could do nothing against it. It is a strong sign of deturiation. Whill the uk use nukes to defend the falklands? most likely not. would they use it against the large citys of argentina? probably not. Would they be able to? definately.
Also i have to ask this, how many times can a country atack the territory of a nuclear power and get away with it? I mean last time the conflict pretty much isolated itself and no decleration of war was made. The falklands war happened only 30 years ago, this time the british might declare war agianst the argentinians. And to be frank this time the argentinians are way less prepared, their economy is shit, their navy outdated and their airforce almost non existent. Also they are not allied anymore with the US. Compare that to the british which still have a decent economy and are in possesion of some of the most advanced ships and aircrafts known to mankind. Their new Type45 Cruiser-Class warship (hms dauntless) is probably kapable to knocking out the entire south american airforce alone. so the sticks are even more uneven then in 82. But hey never underestimate a government that has to divert from its own faillures. And faillures where plenty made in argentina in the last 20 years. Oh and i wanted to add, if the argentinians invade and kill prinz harry................only god can help them:eek:

    OR the international community.
And by 'international community, I really mean America.

The mere idea that the UK is depolying a nuclear-armed sub in this situation is unacceptable. The dipolatic fallout will be immense if it is proven. And the US will have to be the one to tell its ally to back off.

That didn't happen in 82 and it wont in 2012. in the end the uk is and stays 1000 times more valuable to the us then the argentinians. Also what diplomatic fallout? the pissed off argentinians? lol don't kidd yourself no body cares, atleast not in the important part of the world (diplomatic world that is). Or do you think the germans will start a tantrum over this?
No the predominant tone in europe is imensly pro uk. And in the end if sending a nuclear sub (which still is not proven) sends the correct message across(don't fuck with us) and the argentinians do nothing (in terms of armed hostilyties) then all is well and nobody has to die.

Given the article provided by the OP and the thread title, I am probably talking about the nuclear sub. But what do I know, eh?

The UK won't nuke Argentina and have every right to relocate nuclear weaponry within its own territory. Argentina is the one shit-stirring here.

Possibly true. That is actually a question in international politics, if you can believe it.

In any case, have you yet wondered how that sub got there.
I'll give you a hit: they didn't teleport it.
