Yo, bring it on bitch! We will kill you with our only submarine and our not-so outdated army. I didn't read all the post, nor did the link that Sly provided us; and the kicker is, I reallly don't know what is happening because I don't see/hear news! In my opinion the Falklands belong to Argentina (and I'm not the nationalist kinda guy), but at the end of the day, it's the population who decides, and if the people want to stay British, so be it sadly.

There is a thread about this in the OT Paradox forum.
Argentina tried to lay claims on the Falklands, but failed at it. The only thing they have is that they inherited it from the former Viceroy of Argentina, and that claim is still very shaky.

We DID "inherited" from the Spanish. We had a governor there, you know, so he can... govern, and do shit and stuff. One day, I don't remember what happened, we got "in trouble" with the US, and later the British came to retake the islands for the lulz.

I can't read because I need a Paradox account :p But even if I had it, I don't like reading this kind of things, I makes me "angry". Long story short, Argentina is weak, England strong. Argentina is not relevant, England is. England wins.

First of all, it's "British" not "English". Secondly, FINALLY, a sensible Argentine! I knew I'd find one sooner or later.

We call you ingleses, so the translation for us is English. And what do you mean by "sensible Argentine"?

Most of you are cunts who don't seem to realise that Argentina will never get the Falklands. At least, not through diplomacy. And now that I think about it, not through military means either.

Well, then I'm not that type of person, I'm the type of cunt who still want the Falklands; I just understand that is not going to happen tomorrow, and it's going to happen via diplomacy.

Why do you want the Falklands? Your claim to it is shaky at best.

Our claim? We colonised the west Falkland island first, when we left we still left a plaque claiming our full sovereignty of the islands. We owned the the longest amount of time out of anybody who ever controlled the island. When Argentina took the islands, we came back and caused your entire force at Stanley to surrender. And best of all, the Falklanders want to be British.

And Britain has stated that their sub remains in international waters and has not moved into Falklands territory. Therefore they have not broken the terms.

See answer 1. Oh, and no confirmation has come through that the sub is actually nuclear armed...unless Argentina really does know everything.

He doesn't criticise Israel. Why would he criticise us?

That would be 'cos everyone there seems to be directly descended from our colonists. The whole place reminds me of North Wales a bit.

Because it was ours and then you came and say "Hey, you are at civil war and we have nice ships. Hand over the islands"? Our claim is "shaky" and your claim is that you left a piece of metal with yours contry name, even before the Spanish took over the islands again? Whatever...

Exactly. There was gauchos (I don't know how to translate it) in the Falklands, but that was in the 1830s, it's pretty obvious that the population is non-argentinean.

Firstly, we were there before the Spaniards.

    Secondly,

So? When we had the revolution the islands were at Spanish hands, and later when we declared independence, we took the lands that Spain "owned", and even if the isles were unhabitated, we sent people over there.

When did you have your revolution? Spain had control of the islands from June 1770-January 1771

You just quouted an article from Wikipedia which says the last Spanish governor left in 1806. I was taught that the Spanish finally left the islands in 1811; we had our revolution in 1810. But there was so many weird shit going on that the "official" independence happened in 1816.

The last Spanish governor of the Spanish part of the islands.

We owned the west Falkland island, Spain owned the east. In June 1770, the Spanish kicked us off our part of the islands, we almost went to war over it, then they allowed us back to the west island.

I meant that the Spain had full control of the islands from June 1770-January 1771.

If I recall there was a treaty where the UK recognized the Spanish sovereignty, but let's say that Spain wasonly the rightful owner of the east and England of the west, we can all be happy dividing the islands, or some international deal like that. I don't want to keep discussing this, I'll mantain my position and will end figthing with everybody.

Meh, fine. It'll never happen, but I am far to lazy to argue further.
