That's ludicrous for a very large number of reasons.

Firstly, Sly, stop liking everything that's remotely in your side's favor. Sometimes you like things that are actually against you. It's getting ridiculous.

Secondly, of course it wont be exactly the same. But with looming economic problems for the West, I'm sure we all know that means there wont be such a great market for China to export into. Not to mention China has plenty of problems on its own. It's not ridiculous to think that China could start slowing down rapidly.

Haha. US hypocrisy, how I loathe thee!
"Oh, my Gawd! Them terrorists killed 3000 people! We should now start a War on Terror and kill more innocent people ourselves in the first year of the fucking war in Afghanistan alone! Yeah! And make it last for longer too!"
Sly always likes lots of random posts. Hell, haven't you noticed since March 18th?!

Its not even worth mentioning it anymore, I just gave up considering the details regarding US hypocrisy. Most here all too caught up with blind nationalism to even consider we did anything wrong.

The intent of the September 11 attacks was to kill American civilians. The intent of the War on Terror isn't to kill civilians. Where's the hypocrisy, exactly?

Well, there may not be any hypocrisy. But the whole notion that you can destroy a system of unconviental warfare with violence is utterly stupid. Pulling a move even less legal than the Soviet Intervention in Afghistan won't do anything to destroy Terrorism, but only make matters worse. It more hypocritical in regards to how we handled the fighting than the whole idea behind the war.

    Anyhow, back on topic 'gents.

    Still buisness ethics.
Also, provide the articles that make the practice illegal please.

    Proof please.
And remember that not all people believe in workers' rights and fair treatment of labor.
For the record, it doesn't sound like you actually read my post.
It also sounds like you have not examined all the sides.
Please provide proof from an unbiased, tracable source.
    My argument still stands.
Just because they are 'more advanced' does not mean that they have the right to break away.
For that matter, if the West REALLY wants to encourage things like that in the mainland, they should use places like Hong Kong and Shanghai to send the ideas into the country, not tell them to break away. Telling them to break away just makes the mainlanders hate the West more and reject any ideas deemed 'Western'.

And I don't know where 'all the stuff' that you hear comes from, but I can assure you that I, for one, have never heard of any major sentiment to break away. That being said, I HAVE heard Hong Kong residents badmouthing the mainlanders, but it was no more serious than say, Quebec people badmouthing the rest of Canada, or Texans calling to break away, or, for the matter, ANY country of which ALL countries have regional sentiments. Take the US for an prime example. The East Coast v. the West Coast v. the Midwest v. the South v. the North, etc. Even within the individual states, counties, cities, communial centers [such as high schools], there are those that differ themselves from the rest. Its nothing new. The only prime difference in the case of Hong Kong is the afteraffects of the British Occupation and even that is not enough to sever the strong cultural, political, social, etc. ties between the people of the island and the mainland.

You know what some of the Occupy movements' members called the politicians in Washington and the bankers of Wall Street? Parasites. Whether they were or not is not the point though. The point is that just because they call them parasites does not mean that there will be some overthrow of the government or that they even want one.

I think that you took a dissatisfaction comment on the govenment and blew it way out of proportions.

I've said it once, I'll say it again: The East through a Western lens is horrible and the West through an Eastern lens is horrible. You can try, but don't expect to change anything. Even if the CPC were to be replaced, don't expect even a Democratic China to agree with the West. They will always hold their own laws, their own traditions, their own culture and history. The East and the West are fundimentally different and the conforming of one to the standards of the other would dissolve it completely.

And so the battle starts up again, with Imperial fighting for China. I disagree with him, but it is not my argument to make and thus I will sit on the sidelines and cheer on Observer (and Imperial to make a comeback and have a nice argument)
