Any sport is overrated when you think about it.

I think you are confusing the one with your hands with the one with your feet.

You get paid more money in American football than in soccer.

i wouldnt know really i know wery little about american football.
the other reason i think football is overrated is that it is so over represented in the sports media.
the biggest reason i dont like football is that i am such a non conformist.

Well to give you an example, a number 1 overall draft pick as a quarterback was given 60 million USD guranteed a couple years back...Before he even played a single NFL game...

F1, tennis players and golf players can all make more than a football player, if I'm correct.

Generally, in therms of salary, the top football players are paid a lot more than the top American football players. Same goes for basketball and baseball. On top of that, football and basketball players generally get a lot more in sponsorship deals. Then there are the two major prize-money sports of tennis and golf, both of which get even more in sponsorship, particularly golf. Formula One drivers trump them all in terms of raw salary/prizemoney, but they tend to get less from sponsorship deals (not a lot less, mind).

    Other sporting earnings facts:
    • At various points in their career, dozens of sportspeople can claim to have made more money in a year than an entire country. In just 2011 alone, 7 sportspeople made more money than Tuvalu.
    • Kimi Raikkonen (an F1 driver) is the only one who can claim to have had a greater raw salary than the GDP of a country, having wages of $51 mil. per year in 2007-09. During this time, he raced for about 75 hours in total, so he was roughly paid $2 million for every hour he was racing. In salary. He earned between 10 and 20 million per year on top of that in endorsements.
    • The greatest total yearly earnings were $117 mil by Tiger Woods in 2008, and $101 mil. by Michael Schumacher in 2004. Schumacher was earning $4 million every hour he was racing.
    • At one point, buying advertising space on Michael Schumacher's racing suit would cost you $3 million. PER SQUARE INCH.

And do you mean American football players as in those who play American football, or those who play football in America? Because the latter still earn a metric fuckton.

Sport is fun, when I'm a part of the game. When advertisements and all shit that has nothing to do with sports comes into play, I become less interested. I can't give less of a damn whether or not Ronaldinho makes two shit loads of money on top of a woman's asshole every time he is on a field with artificial grass, I want to either see a good game, or play a good game, that is it.
