This is a thread dedicated to your crusader king 2 playthroughs. So I started playing as the Kingdom of Croatia. Nothing much happened on the war side. The usual salting of the muslim countryside. One battle, the muslims had 5+ thousand man army that attacked my 1+ thousand man army with my king leading it. The army god obliterated, but my king lived. The Serbian duchy was right next to me, so I took over them. Just annexed their last territory, Byzantines got the other one. Okay so it's aroud 20-40 years of gameplay, and my king is still alive. He is 71, strange for feudal standards. I'm starting to think he is invincible. He survived Typhoid fever, won multiple battles, and avoided getting killed by muslims. He also has 7 kids, every so often I get the pop-up that either shows his wife is pregnant or a child is born. The man gets down to business So my first daughter comes of age. I marry her off to the Venetian Doge for an alliance. The guy is 52, so I don't expect the alliance to last long. One year later, I check up on my daughter again, and she got the trait "lustful". Never trust a Venetian with your daughters.
Started as the Count of Corinth (Dynasty of Batatzes). Due to the High Crown Authority, I could switch to primogeniture quite fast, so that I could concentrate on expanding. My Chancellor worked wonders in fabricating claimes on my liege, the Palaiologian Duke of Achaia. After Byzantium imploded under the Turks and Civil War, Corwn Authority was low, so I could cash in. Thats how I usurped the Duchy of Achaia. In the next 100 years, I concentrated on clever diplomacy through mariages. I was able to get my brother to become the Doux of Paphlagonia. Then I got my heir first in line for the Duchy of Pest and the Duchy of Athens. I also managed to become Duke of Alexandria by beating up on the Caliphate. I was quite powerfull at that point so I forced the (granted, pretty small) Byzantine Empire into making me the Emperor. Now its time to go ghetto on the Turks ^^ Started a game as a Saxon Count aswell, an man what a wild ride xD Norway won (again), but got overrun by the Danes. I became the Saxon King of Wales, while the Norwegian King of England now resides in Kola oO Crazy shit!
anyone wanna do an online game? I haven't really played much so I don't know what I'm doing but I think a game with atleast 10 forum members would be epic
That would be awesome. You guys need to help me get independent from galicia as portugal. I either get assraped by the muslims or get integrated into Leon because the Galician king got fropped on his head when he was a child and doesn't know how to rule two provinces. And Galicia isn't Galician, which is weird.
So I started out as a random count in england and went to war with a bunch of welsh counts and dukes, conquered wales and became king of wales, I went to war with england at this time i was Raoul the Conquer, so I took the English throne and reveled in victory until my king died of syphilis and all 4 of his sons fought a intense succession war, and now... England is fractured.... I WIN!!!
haha wow that's intense I wish we could be Muslim Sultans but I guess that would take away from the name crusader kings I'd take over the world with Salahadin
If you start as the Byzantian Emperor, and you survive the first Civil War when your incompetent son succeeds you, you can pretty much steamroll everybody. I started 4 games till this point, and only once Byzantium crumbled. Well, it didnt help that I was a Byzantian duke who wanted it to crumble (a bit) ^^
According to the game it's 'nearly impossible' to play as Harold Godwinsson. Also can you give me any help on this wierd situation. I'm playing a Byzantine duke and did a holy war on the Pechenegs for one province- I'm winning but the problem is that even though all the Pechenegs' territories have been fully occupied by either me or the Hungarians and my liege the Emperor, and my war score at about 61% they still refuse to make peace! What do I do?
They'll likely still have armies somewhere. You need to destroy their military capability as well as conquering their provinces.
Pagans are really strong in the beginning.... And if you attack one, chances are, his neighbours will come to his aid, if you declare with an "Holy War" casus belli.
well the Kaiser himself declared war right at the start so the whole might of the Holy Roman Empire shall crush them and I like being a count you don't need to keep an entire kingdom in line
Started As King Petar III Asen of Bulgaria (Starting c. 1185 for gits and shiggles), and things were good for about 3 years, till my week-old son was assasinated by my Half-Brother, Ivan. I then threw Ivan into prison. He then assasinated me, putting me in control of Ivan I, King of Bulgaria. I then, Roleplaying, Execute about 4 people in blind rage. Kylorin, the last of the 3 Half-Brothers, Rebels with the Duchy of Turnovo, triggering the Bulgarian Civil War. After Bloody, bloody battles, I stoop to assasinating Kylorin, killing the last of my Brothers. Peace is gained for once in what will be Ivan I's 7-year short, bloody reign. Ivan I, Ironically enough, is maimed so badly in the Civil War that he dies of his wounds shortly after the Civil War. without any Males to lead Bulgaria, Princess Elena, the Sister to all of the brothers, and Wife to one of the Rebel Lords Executed by Ivan, becomes Elena I, Queen of Bulgaria and Duchess of Turnovo. As the first Female Ruler i'd had, i didn't have high expectations. well, I should have. Elena earned the title "The Holy" in her 45-year reign from 1195-1240, Dying at age 75. during her long reign, Queen Elena I turned Bulgaria into a Balkan Superpower. over Tripling the Bulgarian Army, Going from 3,000 Troops to over 10,000 troops, Bulgaria was now a Major Military power. Although Bulgaria only gained two provinces under Elena, Her Reign was a refreshing change from the Bloodbath of the Previous monarchs. Shortly before her death, The Duchy of Dyrrachion declared war on Bulgaria, giving Elena the Prime opportunity to show off the Bulgarian Army. The Dyrrachians were Crushed under the Might of Bulgaria, and Victory went to the Queen. Sadly, the Heir to the Crown, Prince Boril Dobromirov Asen died. When Elena Eventually died on the 9th of July, 1240, Her Grandson; Boril's son, Dobromir Borilov Asen, became King Dobromir I Asen, the second-Longest Reigning Monarch so far. Reigning for about 30 years, Dobromir Expanded the Bulgarian Golden age by rebuilding the Royal Army which had shrunk to 6,000 Troops since Elena's Death. by the Height of His reign, Dobromir gave Bulgaria the 11th largest Military in Europe, at 15,000 soldiers, Larger than Even the Mighty Byzantine Empire's Army, and only a little behind the Kaiser himself! By Dobromir's death, however, The Bulgarian Army was significantily smaller, at only about 8 or 9 thousand. The Reign of King Radislav Dobromirov Asen I wasn't as glorious as Elena's or Dobromir's however. By the end of Radislav's reign, he had lost a territory, Petarograd, and gotten the name "Radislav the accursed". Radislav's reign lasted for 13 years, during which, the Second Bulgarian Civil War (though not as bloody as the first) ripped two counties from bulgaria, one led by Radislav's half-brother, Dobromir. In the ensuing conflict, the Byzantine County of the Aegean Islands found ample time to invade and take over Petarograd. Even after the civil war, Radislav could not make up for his lackluster reign, and he died having the shortest reign of Elena's Direct Descendants. His Son, Viseslav Radislavov Asen is now King Viseslav I of Bulgaria, and now, only time can tell how the 20 year-old king will fare as Monarch of Bulgaria...
