Friends, I consider you to be my closest people in this world. That is why I would like to confide in all of you. As most of you know I have support Rick Perry. In supporting him I have met many interesting people. Today I was contacted by a a most interesting person seeking help. Please, I am young and ill equipped to help him, but I would like to ask you all to help him. Below I will send you the message he sent.

My name is “censored” I understand you are a very busy man i have a very personal matter i wish to discuss with you i need your help with a matter i joined the united states army when i was 17 and served 4 years in the united states army i deployed in Iraq from June 08 to June 09 i am a purple heart recipient from a roadside bomb that hit my convoy a very close and dear friend of mine was also with me and we lost one of our very good friends he has ptsd sir and is dealing with a lot the reason why I’m emailing is I’m requesting a audience or whatever i can receive to intervene on my buddy's behalf my friend was in a verbal argument with 5 guys in which the very guys beat him unmercifully and almost killed him in self-defense my buddy retrieved a personally owned gun and used it as a show of force he never pull the trigger or anything and the d.a. is wanting to give him 8 years over this matter nothing ever came out of the guys the beat him they got a slap on the wrist i do not think it is fair for him to get this i am not saying though by this and his service record that he doesn’t receive proper repercussions but giving his ptsd and service I’m wanting to request a governor intervention of whatever Mr. Perry can help with so that my friend can get the help he needs to get past this he has served his country sir and paid a sacrifice that went and has gone unnoticed in the judicial system it is wrong for him to get thrown by the wayside im asking sir for your help if you are able to if you can please return my email or call me at "censored" i would forever be grateful if you are able to help thank you for reading this message and God bless.

Did you mean to post his phone number? Why censor his name but not that?

Why did he send this to you? Although I struggled to read this since it is basically one long run on sentence, it does sound unjust.

I don't know!!! I thought some one here would have an answer I didn't. I am baffled that someone would just send this to me. Granted we have been Facebook friends for a while, but I have little to no answers.

First of all, you'd think his military intuition would tell him to get the fuck out of there if he was being verbally harassed by 5 guys, regardless of his PTSD. In most cases, letting a motherfucker with PTSD hold on to a gun is not a good idea. Being in the military does not place you higher than anybody else in social status, that should not go towards helping him in court. "Paid a sacrifice" my ass. His friend paid the sacrifice. He got into the military, it fucked him up psychologically and he pulled a gun on 5 people

This mongoloid has went around telling this to Rick Perry supporters because they are so patriotic that they defend these idiots. The "God bless" at the end just goes to show. Why else would he contact a stupid kid with Anonymous in his avatar?

Not knowing what state this occurred in they have something called a mitigation period in a trial where you can present evidence (like, hey my client has ptsd, perhaps that affected his judgement) that would knock down the sentencing. If the DA is pushing for 6 years (a - that doesn't mean he's going to get it) then there's probably something more to the story. In some instances it can be a criminal act to brandish a firearm, but almost nowhere are they going to give you 8 years for brandishing a firearm, "in self defense". In terms of his actual legal predicament, the VA has a legal department that can help him out, or he's always entitled to a public defender. My gut says this is probably a scam though.
