I would like to be in the area from between the Levanos Mountains and the Free Land of Amerys, please. (Note: I go crazy on these RP things, so ignore what is not needed. XD) Name: The Confederacy of Varsgarten Capital: Norfall Style: Trade Nation Focus: Increasing trade, minimizing alliances to avoid being sucked into wars. Military is drilled in fighting a defensive war, so while it is able to hold out against a sustained onslaught, the army is weakest while on the offensive. Military: Four-years conscription for all males aged between eighteen to thirty-five with retraining every six months afterwards until they are fifty. Keeps at least a few regiments at full strength at any given time, especially on the coast and the Levanos Mountain border. The mountain range is also used as a natural fort, with several defensive lines place on, and some even in the mountains themselves. Economy: Keeps trade tariffs as low as possible to attract people to it's harbors on the eastern and southern shores. Weapons, armors, minerals mined from the mountains and fish are it's main exports. Thanks to the geography of the land, main imports are usually food products which require large expanses of land for farms. Politics: Varsgarten is an oddity, consisting of four separate states bound together by a treaty. Each state has it's own duke as a ruler. The dukes answer to a king elected by the nobles of each state. For matters such as wars and alliances, a majority or unanimous vote is required. This odd method of government was formed after the disastrous rule of the last Grand Emperor of Varsgarten which led the nation to civil war and close to complete destruction. Infantry Levanosen Strelkainfanterie (Mountain Infantry) -Mountain infantry trained in Levanos Mountains -Equipped with a crossbow for ranged attacks. Trained in close quarters fighting with longswords -Uses 'Mountain Pattern' armor (Lamellar armor utilizing a three-pronged shape, wound together into a lightweight, mobile piece of armor that still provides adequate protection) Piksinfantrie (Pikemen) -Lightly armored in leather. -Uses a 21-foot pike as main weapon and a short-sword as secondary Heavy Piksinfantrie (Pikemen) -Plate armor, well defended -Uses a 21-foot pike as main weapon and a short-sword as secondary. -Hard to break once in proper formation. Spearmen Militia (Spearmen) -Lightly armored. Lamellar for body protection, leather for arms and legs. -Equipped with a spear and a wooden kite shield covered in raw hide. Strelkamalvikasen (Dismounted lancers/Spearmen) -Despite the name, they don't use the lance. Instead they use a spear similar to the spearmen and a metal kite shield. -Uses plate armor for the torso, shoulders, upperarms. Thighs protected by lighter plate armor. Hardened leather hides used for lowers arms and shins. Standard Infantry (Swordsmen) -Wears steel laminar armor. -Armored with sword and square shield. -Disciplined, hard to break. Ranged Infantry Archer Militia (Archers) -Consists of mainly volunteers/conscripts -Lightly armored, some are even completely unarmored. -Uses a standard bow as a primary weapon and various of daggers and swords as secondary weapons. Crossbow Militia (Crossbowmen) -Uses a standard crossbow and a shield to protect them from enemy ranged projectiles -Lightly armored Dismounted Halfingar (Archers) -Longer recurve bow as main weapon, sword as secondary -Uses lamellar armor for body, leather guards for arms (optional) and legs. Helmet made of hardened leather. Cavalry Halfingar (Mounted Archers) -Short, recurve bow as main weapon, sword as secondary -Uses lamellar armor for body, leather guards for arms (optional) and legs. Helmet made of hardened leather. Malvikasen (Lancers/Heavy Cavalry) -Uses a lance as a main weapon. Sword as secondary. -Armored in plate armor throughout. -Used as shock troops. Strelkacavalerie (Light Cavalry) -Lightly armored. Hardened leather for the entire body. -Used as scouts and for harassment of the enemy army. Levanosen strelkacavalerie (Skirmishers) -Essentially the Levanosen Strelkainfanterie on horses. Used mainly to screen the army or to aid the Strelkacavalerie in harassing the enemy formation. I might edit this later if I get any other ideas on expanding some parts.
Name: The Steel Legion (maybe something else) Capital: Castle Eireius (In Port Ardus) Style: Highly Centralized Mercenary Legion Rule: Ruled by the family Eireius Focus: Gaining more land and becoming a real nation. Otherwise gold. Military: Those who wants to join need to train for 4 years as a recruit. The legion is big internationally and have no problem with recruits except when it goes bad (It rarely does). As a centralized merc company all soldiers have matching armor and weapons. Is organized into legions with about 1000 men each there is 15 legions(to much?). Economy: Gains money from protection, employers and taxes (the latter only from legion territory). Diplomacy: Eireius rules with an iron fist and wants to be recognized as a real nation. The legion often acts as a bully and turns on those who can't pay or if the spoils of war is to low. Infantry Steel Bulwark (Heavy Defense) -Steel clad units with tower shields and long swords. -Excellent for defending ranged infantry or holding position. -About 200 in a legion. Steel Legionnaire (Heavy shock troop) -Steel clad units with (smaller) tower shields and short swords also has small axes. -Good for breaking weak areas or pushing back weak flanks. -About 400 in a legion. Ranged Infantry Crossbowmen (Ranged Infantry) -Leather clad infantry with a big crossbow and back-up knife. -Often is used in combination with steel bulwark and shoot from behind the bulwarks shields. -About 300 in a legion. Cavalry Steel Clad Storm Cavalry (Heavy Cavalry) -Steel clad cavalry with armored horses has a spear and a long sword (Often dual wielded after charge). -I used defensively to counter other cavalry or counter charging flanks. -About 100 in a legion. Elite Units Black Robes (Elite Regiment) -Elite units with free equipment choice but they must wear a black robe. -Often used as bodyguards or when a decisive battle is at hand. -Can be from 50 to 0 in a legion they are about 200 total. Coming up with more than the army might be useless but I like when factions have character. Btw will there be other rp than fighting?
Just to clarify I own the region from the Ruins of Racyth and northward that whole area surrounded on three sides by mountains.
my borders are from Mount Herals to lake Prim, Current army: 20 Brigades of Phalix, 2o brigades of javelin throwers,5 Brigades of spartans.
Duchy of Esrom Infantry: Peasant Conscripts-Armed with an assortment of spear-like weapons, little to no armour. Men-At-Arms-Armed with longswords and heater shields, armoured in plate armour. Halberdiers-Armed with halberds, armoured in chainmail with steel helmets. Ranged Infantry: Longbowmen-Armed with longbows and steel daggers, armoured in light leather armour. Cavalry: Lancers-Armed with lances and swords, armoured in plate armour I'd like the eastern half of the land which says "Kingdom of Iseroth", bordering the forest and the mountain range.
