Quality over quanity, the spartans(Persians, other greeks, helots, and althought xerxes technically beat them, they won a morale victory, destroying persian willingness to fight and inspiring the greeks), romans(throughout the roman empire's history vast numbers of barbarians thought that their numbers alone would help them against the romans, I think we all know how that turned out), Israelis(Israels very existence proves today shows that quality can beat quanity) all these peoples have fought armies than vastly outnumbumber ther own and have come out on top, because a quality army with good training and good equipment, can defeat a force many times larger then their own, unless they are led poorly.

    Nope.

From what I understand, what you are saying is that the first one to fire will win. I assert two things in that case:
    1) Neither side has the technology to counter ICBMs
    2) In spite of the increadible speed at which an ICBM moves, it is not instantaneous. Once it is fired, the opposing side will have a minimum of an hour [though I have to check ICBM speed] to reach them. In that time they will undoubtedly retaliate with their own missiles.

Utter destruction of the other side whist also being utterly destroyed is not a win in my book.

Do you ever consider the possibility that you perhaps take life a little too seriously?

This situation would never in a thousand years occur. The two economies rely on each other. TOTALLY rely on each other.

YOU speak as if we'd have the quantities of precious metals needed to build consumer electronics , fighter planes, tanks , even the typical gear an american soldier lugs around! Not to mention the ridiculous amount of textiles and products the American economy relies on. All the military power in the world won't save you if your facing 1.6 billion people who are starving , pissed off, and you don't have the money to occupy.

I like to think the people in control of this planet have a far better view of the situation then you or me too, I could continue on all the reasons that a war between america and china is a ridiculous proposal.

God damn kid's these days think that all the wealth they are surrounded in is somehow magically there . Who cares where it came from or that the people who sold it to you had to ship ingredients from locations around the planet. Life as we know it is not possible without china.

"Let those who ask for peace prepare for war."
"Americans love war. We don't like something, we declare war on it. War on Terror. War on Drugs..."
    Nope. Why?

Si vis pacem, para bellum, right?

Yep, that's the US for ya. I like how they say the war in Afghanistan is a "military intervention", but they do call it "the War on Terror".

    Anyway, who said that?
