To be honest, I lost all sympathy for the 'Poor us, we're the victims' thing that the US is doing with it all a long time ago. I'll give sympathy to any of the victims, or families of victims if I run into any, though to anybody else, it has been 11 years. It is plain unhealthy to hold such a depressive obsession with the event this long.

Up in Canada we have no memorial service for 9/11, and if you ask most Canadians about 9/11 they will shrug their shoulders and move on. I feel that this overall sense of apathy is common in just about every country besides the US, and I would argue that once you get into the Middle East and Asia most people probably don't know 9/11 even happened. After all 92% of Afghans don't know what 9/11 is and I think it would be interesting to do surveys in countries like China or India to see how many people there are there who have even heard of 9/11.

We should treat it like pearl harbor, end the mourning but don't forget. Also I think the standard rule for 911 was, 6 years then its okay some people just haven't dropped it yet.

He always acts like he is better than everyone else, and not EVERYTHING has happened because 9/11. My education would not have changed, religon would not have changed ( except the pricks with those faggity ass signs saying " Thank God for 9/11 )

Only thing that would be different if it didnt happen would be politics and such.

Just about every international thing that has involved the US since then has been heavily influenced by 9/11.

A couple of years after 9/11 a woman from the US lodged a complaint about a toy product. It depicted a plane flying between a pair of towers. The manufacturer and the cereal maker [it was included free in a ceral box] both said that it had nothing to do with 9/11, but stopped putting them in.
We can draw 2 conclusions from this at least:
    1) Some companies have to be more sensitive [evidently]
    2) At least SOME Chinese factory workers know about 9/11.

Move on? Yes. Forget? No. I completely disagree with that idea. Should we also forget attacks like Pearl Harbor? "Hey, only x amount of people died, it's not that big of a deal." I would say the reason for that we Americans were so shocked by the Attacks is not just the number of deaths, as much as the complete suddeness of the attacks. We'd been attacked before (1993 one of the twin towers was bombed) but nothing on this scale, nothing so coordinated, and not with this kind of tactics. I understand that it was 10 years ago, but the idea of FORGETING 9/11, is just absurd. And the idea of making jokes about it is even worse. How can you do such a thing? "Oh, 2000 innocent civilians died. Hahaha!" I know that isn't what the joke would say, but you get the point. Even if the number of causalties don't compare with things like the holocaust, we should not and will not forget it. If your nation was suddenly and deliberately attacked, and thousands of civilians were killed, would you forget about it? I would hope not. I'm not saying we should mope about it, but we should remember it, and make sure nothing like can happen again.

As I said before, a lot of Americans made Tsunami jokes about Japan this time last year. 'So we nuked two of your cities and bombed just about every other town to rubble, get over it!'

Good lord I remember those. They was sooo bad its not even funny. "An act of God is punishing you for a attack that was directed by the EMPIRE of Japan 50+ years ago". Give me a break.

If you expect us not to make 9/11 jokes, then I expect you not to make jokes about any tragic event that has happened in history, to any other nation. Just because something bad happened on American soil doesn't give the rest of the world the obligation to suck your dicks every 11/9.

You cannot blame me for the acts of my (stupid) countrymen. I don't expect you to "suck my dick" every september 11th. I haven't made any jokes about tragic events, and don't plan to. Anyone who does is either stupid, or completely insensitive. I do however expect that you not insult me for simply insisting that we americans (which I assume you are not) not forget 9/11. I'm not asking you to cry me a river. Nor do I want you to.
