Whenever our Xbox is on my Laptop lags and the audio is choppy, because of the lag. In task manager it shows my CPU usage, and when our Xbox is on the Usage goes up, but there are no programs open, can you help me please. I also forgot to mention the problem goes away when i disconnect from the internet.
What the hell? Let me get this straight. You have an Xbox (360?), and a completely separate laptop. When your Xbox is on at the same time as your laptop, your laptop lags in terms of general performance and responsiveness, and task manager shows the CPU usage increase. Correct me if I'm wrong, and tell me anything else that you think is relevant. How old is your laptop? How does your laptop connect to the internet? (wifi, ethernet cable, usb cable?) How does your Xbox connect to the internet? Try it again with your Xbox on and laptop unplugged from the power, and then again plugged in. If you have network cables, try using those.
Yeah, Xbox live. Xbox and Laptop are both connected to the same router via Wi Fi, I have tried an ethernet cord from the router too my laptop but no change, The audio sounds robotic like there is strain on the Processor, its Intel pentium dual core.
Uhh, I'm not sure about this, but I think your Laptop doesn't use enough energy, and your Xbox uses way too much energy. (this coming from a guy who knows piss-all about PC's and gaming consoles in terms of what goes on inside of them.) Also, add me on XBL, bro.
Try running the xbox with the cord, or both if possible. Are they connected to the same power socket? Is your laptop linked to your xbox through that windows media center thing?
I never bought an Xbox cord, No the Xbox is in my room, the laptop in the living room, Ye sit is linked to media center is there anyway to un link it?
I'm almost certain that is the problem. Go to Windows Media Center on your laptop. Scroll to Tasks, then Settings, then Extender. You should see an Xbox icon. Click on it, then click Uninstall.
If you do that, then yes. Wait a sec, I think there's a way to stop it connecting automatically from the Xbox side EDIT: My Xbox is being dodgy at the moment. See if you can figure it out yourself, look around in the settings.
