Again, you fail to state a source by which you got the knowledge that there might be a beeing called god you could believe in. If you believe in the christian god, you must have heard of him from somwehre, what is your source?

    @ Korean

Same question: Where do you got the knowledge of this god you believe in from? What is your source?

    @ Ler
I completely agree. BUT! There is a socially (some scientist say genetically) established basis for "good" and "evil" On a second thought, I may used eviul wrong there. But the point stands: Even the first tribes of Homo Sapiens Sapiens knew that killing each other is a bad idea. The same "code" tells us that religion may be good for some, but does bad for many others along the way.

This can be said for political views, or even atheism. But you have to distingush between acts because of atheism and acts of a person who happens to be an Atheist. (or Christian/muslim whatever)

You are ignoring what we are saying and claiming the same from us. We are saying that we don't believe that every last detail of the bible is correct after all this time, yet we believe in the parts that make sense and seem right.

The Bible and the Ten Commandments. If you are just going to try and get me to say "I have no credible source for my faith", then clearly you don't understand the term "belief". I don't need a Bible to be a christian. I just need to believe in God and be sorry for my sins. I haven't read the Bible fully and I believe I am christian. Reading the Bible and believing it word for word doesn't define a christian.

    ...
I know that. You dont believe in the bible. I got that 10 posts ago. I just asked a simple question: If not from the bible, where did you get your knowledge of god from?
Please, its a simple english question, I have great faith that you can answer it ;)

To be a christian, you absolutely do need the bible. You sir, are not a christian! You made yourself a god that is comparable with your believes, not the other way around, as it should be according to christianity. That is exactly what I was getting to. You made things up. Thats the point. Its called a delusion!
Congratulations for finding that out for yourself!

Well now that you put more detail into you question then now I can properly answer you.
I go to mass most Sundays, since I was a child. They go into detail about Bible verses. Also Catechism gave me a more in depth teaching on my faith and the life of Jesus Christ. Also, having the knowledge of God and Jesus "drew" me into the faith.

Mustachio, heads up - This isn't any way to 'convert' religious people. Right now, you are just pissing them off, and giving them further reason to dislike us, and our beliefs.

Now, if I may ask you two things - How exactly would you go about abolishing religion? And - Do you not view the idea of banning beliefs to be at all wrong, or hypocritical to what you are arguing?

It is wrong and hypocritical, he desires to force his beliefs on others, yet I am sure that is something he uses against religious people. On the topic of bullshit as he claims I am spouting it, it is bullshit to force your beliefs on religion on others, removing religion would be doing just that. All non harmful beliefs should be allowed because they don't harm anything. Only extremism should be fought.

    @ Chelsea

That is NOT an answer of how you did found out that there is a god you coukld believe in. You just say you believe. It explainy nothing.... Funny that you accused me of beeing unable to have a discussion.

    @ Ler

I dont want to convert them, I'm pretty suere that they both are lost. Also, I do think that they have the ability to not mistake my points of view with the general opinion of atheists. And since we are all individuals, there is no "making all of us look bad". Besides the point that I never lied nor made an absurd statement in any form, ther eis no way I could make look anyone look bad in the eyes of a thinking human beeing.

To the second, I never said "abolish". I dont think that this kind of wording is the one we should use. Religion will sort themselves out. There will be a time where it is gone, just because the genreal populace will get more educated, and the humanity will discover more about the universe we actually live in. What I mean with "fight" religion, is exactly how you protest racism for example. When the NPD ( the new Nazi party here in germany) does a demonstartion, you oppose them in a counter demonstaration. You speak yopur mind about the bad religion CAN do. You prevent indoctrination of children through school systems or preachers on the street etc.

EDIT: Chealsea, I'm not forcing shit on you. I asking you questions on your believe, which you fail to asnwer. So I call them delusional because you make no sense.

Mustachio, that kind of hate filled attitude is pretty much the very reason why a lot of religious people distrust us. I think it is you who needs saving. (Not in a religious sense)

Do you not see the hypocrisy in what you are saying there? After all, it was you who was assuming they were bad people, ignorant, or 'lost' simply due to their beliefs.

I accused you of being unable to have a discussion without insulting on this matter, which you already proved, several times. I found out there was a God I could believe in through my parents and the bible. Yes, the bible. It is what I used to develop my beliefs on God and Jesus. Your first post was unclear that it meant my first exposure to it instead. I believed in the parts about God and Jesus. Over the years my beliefs have evolved into what they are now.

So what do you want? Do you want no religion or no religious extremism. Well you can't have neither because religious extremism is protected under "freedom of religion" law. I'm sure you have something like that is over there. What you say shows me that you are intolerant to other religions with the terms "delusional" or "lost". You don't take our arguments for granted because there is no "proof" for our faith. What I get from you is that you don't understand the concept of "believe" and "faith" in favor of fact.

You know why I believe in God? Because I just fucking do! I don't have to show you any proof in my faith because faith doesn't need proof.

The "lost" was in no way meant to be disrespectfull or in any form to be understand in a comparative way with others who aren't. It was meant to be a statement that even if someone could find a counter argument to every argument they made, they still wont "convert"

Sorry, if I didnt word that right, English is just my 3rd language.

    EDIT:

So the same that applies to Korean applies to you too. You made your god so he fits your believes, not the other way around. Congratulations, you are not a christian ;) I rest my case!
