Yes. Literal business. As in photocopying and drinking coffee.

I see your point. Although I have the feeling that once the capture/kill him they will be like "Alright boys, job finished, let's go home. Good luck fellas!"

One does not simply pose badass.

And promoting synergy with brutal African militias. Seriously, from what I've read Invisible Children supports some fucked up organizations themselves. Giving them your money probably isn't the best idea.

And to think, I went out with one of the plastics in my high school back in 06 because she had an internship with them.

So, that blog raised an interesting point. The ONLY goal this group is openly claiming towards is getting rid of Kony, pretty much irrefutably by military intervention. They aren't focusing at all on the economic conditions in the country, that fact that people are starving, all the people left homeless by the disaster, or the massive physical and psychological trauma of those who have been forced to fight for kony - Their only public focus is 'Get rid of Kony' because it sells better than - 'Launch a military invasion of three countries, all of which are already in deep political, and social unrest, kill the thousands of children who fight for him and support two groups which have been accused of committing genocide and mass rape in an operation that will likely last 15+ years '

The more I look into it, the more sickening this movement seems. The entire thing exists to gain popular support for an invasion of three countries.

If you actually paid attention to the video, they were arguing for an increased number of advisers to train the Ugandan military. Training local military =/= full-scale invasion.

Military advisers = media speak for Soldiers/special forces. Assuming they have half a brain, they would know that just killing him won't accomplish anything. All three countries are in states of famine, and social/political unrest. Even if they do take him down in a raid, either some other organization will immediately rise up, or one of his 2nd in commands will take over. To settle this issue, to get rid of the LRA and any chance of an equally terrible organization coming along, you would need a full military intervention.

That being said, 'invisible children' supports organizations that are just as bad, if not worse than the LRA/Kony - Which leads me to think that they don't have the African people's interests at mind.

Interesting side note, for you reds - South Sudan and Uganda both have very high oil reserves, and the Congo is the most naturally resource filled countries on earth.

Ugandan military = A patchwork of various militia groups headed by local warlords who are just as bad. Also Kony isn't even in Uganda anymore.

The movement is too sensationalist for me. But yeah, I would say it's better to target the root of the problem instead of pretending like getting rid of that man will fix all the problems.

Not trying to make a joke here, but i wish i was Iron Man....

I'd be like Tony Stark in the first movie, fly over to (in this case Uganda/its neighbors) and blast that son of a bitch.
