I'd be more then willing to let my house burn for another 15 minutes to ensure that children with no home are being coerced into slavery....

I'm 100% smack on convinced that the "kony 2012" is another ingenious method of imperialism. I'm not going to be deceived once more by imperialism, wake up! It's that time again like Iraq. Don't fall for it!

I know but I wanted to see what my friends said because they are like KONY fanatics. I was laughing so hard I had tears coming out of my eyes.

Excellent summary, there are pretty much my thoughts as well. Except I don't think killing Kony will achieve all that much, just like killing Osama didn't.

Well to be fait, killing Osama actually has achieved more than killing Kony would. As an associate of mine pointed out today, there are many people who are committed this crime that Kony is accused of and worse crimes. There are individuals still committing such crimes aside from Kony. While yes, when it comes down to it, the world would have to start somewhere when they decide to band together to take down the warlords in the world and the top of the ICC's list a great place to start, the fact is that if Kony is eliminated, he will simply be replaced by someone else just as if not worse. As it is, the world has other pressing issues to deal with. I refer again to my quote above:
"One cannot tend to the stables when one's own house is on fire."

And this will take a significant longer amount of time than 15 minutes. Try a couple of years. You are talking about a global mobilization to enter an African jungle to search for a single man. The Kony organization is trying to help the Ugandan military even though they admit that he isn't even in Uganda anymore. And they are fighting a completely defensive war. Warning posts are great, but they don't help if there is nobody to respond. The Ugandan military will take years to train and the rest of the world is too busy to start another war.

To think you would go to such lengths to endorse child slavery. Stay classy Pedro.

I personally believe we should not go in after him because he is not a threat to the United States of America. But I think it would be OK to send some drones over there and see what we find.

Why does everything have to be a threat to our country for us to do something?

Why shouldn't we help Africa? I personally don't think we should go after Kony, but we must try and tackle the route of the problem. A stable Africa would be beneficial to everybody.

Sorry I made a typo: Sorry I made a typo. "Why would we waste money and time and lives go after something that is not?" Is what was meant.

Because we would be wasting economic reserves, money, and other necessities on a whole continent.

I prefer if the U.S. or some other developed country sent a small force to capture him.

Good for him, but I still see it as a waste. Also it does not look like Bush's attempts to save Africa worked. Seems like it did not do anything. There is only one way to stop Africa from being so awful and that way is imperialism.
