Not if you twist it. Like you did, saying that we are claiming sometjing. We aren't. You claim there is a god, we are rejecting this claim.
I know, isn't it horrible? First of all: Read the Wikipedia page. I did not twist the quote. Second of all: I've never claimed there's a god. Reread all of my posts, and you'll never find me saying this. I was just defending the theist people here, because I feel that you do not treat them with respect. Neither do I feel you treat me with respect. And if you reject a claim, doesn't that mean you claim the opposite? I'm fairly certain it does, or I must have become crazy. Did I get the definition wrong? If so, Wikipedia must have it wrong too.
Oh, no, I used "you" in a more general sense, referring to anyone who gets a definition wrong, causing confusion. In this case, that was me.
Oh, okay. That explains. I thought you claimed that my definition of atheism was wrong. I just misinterpreted your post, that's all.
Its half right. It says, we reject the believe in a deity. But to believe in a deity, you must first claim that it exists. We reject this claim from the start, because they fail to show evidence. And no, that doesnt mean that we claim anything. We dont need to, because "not-believing" in an unproven thing that cant be seen, feelt or interacted in any form with, is the default position.
Well, there's a difference between denying any kind of deity exists, and lacking belief in one. It depends on where the "a" stands for, and I thought it'd be the opposite of the normal word. Theism being a belief in any kind of deity/deities, and atheism, being the opposite, would mean no belief, or a lack of belief.
If you reject a claim, you claim that the previously made claim is untrue, thus you claim the opposite. 1+1+1=3. I guess that's true, but the lack of belief also implies the lack of belief in a deity.
That's exactly what it means. That doesn't mean you reject the belief, however. If you don't know about God, for example, you also lack a belief in it. However, as you don't know about God, you can't reject the belief in Him either, as you don't know about it. Therefore, I'd say babies lack a belief in God, and returning to my earlier confusion about the definition of atheism, led me to claim babies are born atheist.
I dont have to, because we dont need to claim the unexistence of things that are not proven. If it would be, we would be spending all our lifes thoughts to formulate claiming for any kind of beeing. Again, the standard position is "non-believing". I dont need to claim shit!
If you actively want to piss people off, I can accept it if you are just looking for a funny reaction. You just look pathetic if you aren't actually pissing people off, but rather, people feel the need to inform you that you hate yourself.
I think I did a good job of it with some other guys who repeatedly call me an asshole. Also, I am quite satisfied with myself. Living a good life, working a job that is fun, haveing a family and all. I really couldn't care less what you or others think, or what you think I am thinking about myself. I do this just to amuse me a little in my free time.
