    @Yarpen
    Well what does it mean in Spanish and/or Dutch? In English Hysterical can describe somebody who is freaking out in fear, exitement, laughter, etc.
    I am particularly interested in the Spanish definition as I am learning Spanish.

    Well, it's complex, even if I explain it in Spanish :p A woman classified as "histerica" would be someone like, one day says "I love you" and the next one "GTFO"; she is like in a state of constant contradiction.
    Let's use a better example: there is this girl that try to seduce (or flirt, whatever) you, she will show that she have some interest for you, but in the moment you "take the first step" she'll suddenly lose all interest. Or let's say seems to have feelings for you; once you say to her that you feel the same she will say something like "but I want you as a friend".
    Btw, this term I think is more from Argentina that general Spanish; and as there "histericAs", there are also "histericOs".

    That is kind of what happened to me. I saw her staring at me and that is when I gained my intrest. I was like "Does she like me?" When I say that I like her it's like I commited a crime.

    Interesting. We don't learn South American dialects. Mostly Mexican and Spanish (european), with some Central American and Cuban at times. The Spanish language is fun to learn, for me.

    It's understandable. Lunfardo only applies to Argentina (mostly Bs. As.), and to Uruguay in part; not even the Spanish understand us :p Technically we learn british English, but thanks to TV and Internet you learn all the needed.

    There are many possibilities of what happened, that's why ignoring her is your most powerful "weapon" right now.

    Lunfardo? I'm guessing that's the dialect. Funny name. Sometimes I wish the Internet was in Spanish so I could learn more of it, just as you barbarians learn our language through the internet.

    I think it's etymology comes from the Italian, since the lunfardo was created mainly when the first waves of immigrants arrived. One thing helped me a lot when I was a little boy was to play videogames in English; you can use some game you've already played, and replay it in Spanish, so you can learn more vocabulary and pronunciation.

    What we do is we watch a lot of popular movies (usually children's movies) dubbed in Spanish. Which would help, if you people didn't talk so damn fast.

    Lol, it's the opposite here, people complain Americans talk fast, but we talk too fast also, and I have the testimony of our ex English teacher, a Texan dude! And those movies, specially Disney ones, generally use "neutral" Spanish, like Mexican but without stereotypical accent; I made a post about our accent but everybody ignored it :(

    I understand, but you used the word "beautiful". Sounds like you were exclusively referring to her looks.
