    KONY 2012 is not about arming the Ugandan army nor is it give you a lecture about politics & problems of Uganda. It's here to raise awareness about the guy and ultimately taking him down. No where does it say that they want to arm Ugandan army nor have West come and occupy the country, like some people seem to think.

    This is an opinion of someone living in Uganda, so...

    Also, he doesn't mean so much an occupation, but a greatly increased influence by the US. Maybe make a base to fight Kony. Maybe keep that base long after he's gone... He's concerned about US influence growing. Also, he's not saying Kony 2012 is telling the US to arm Uganda: he's saying that it could be used in order to do such things and allow increased US influence in the region. He's also commenting on the amount of fanaticism that Kony 2012 has drummed up in the West. For example, someone in my AP Government class suggested that the US might want to concentrate its resources on more pressing issues like the situation between Iran and Israel, the economy, violence in the US, etc. She was crucified, called an ignorant moron and probably would have had to leave the class had she been someone of a weaker constitution. She also would have been called a racist if she wasn't black. The author with this article is concerned about Western youth blindly supporting the Kony 2012 cause without having all of the facts about Uganda.
