I will not be surprised if they get the fan funding. Double Fine Adventure (Tim Schafer's fan funded game)

has so far got wait for it...

3.4 MILLION dollars. So yeah won't be surprised if it get's produced. Just share it around and do your part.

Did you go to kickstarter? They've funded it a long time ago. It's funding is 129% of the original budged.

Now, I know very little about Wasteland but isn't it a little late? Fallout's had large success. There's been RAGE, Borderlands, elements of Duke Nukem Forever, Red Dead Redemption. There've been too many games being set in deserts for my liking.

Doing what wrong? Are you implying trolling perchance? No, strangely a different opinion isn't usually a troll. I'm just sick of that setting. I probably didn't complete more than a third of New Vegas & Red Dead.

No I'm not saying anyone's trolling, but if you're sick of desert games why wont you buy one that does not have it in it? There's like a few thousand of them...

I wouldn't really call it a paradigm shift. Basically there are a lot of people trying to use Kickstarter, but it seems to only work if you already have a name in the biz or are working on some sort of cult favorite. I read an article the other day about a guy who left one of the big name companies to produce an old school (duke nukem, wolfenstein, doom) style fps and turned to kickstarter for funding. He's gotten a lot of positive feedback but only recieved like 1-10th of the funding he needs to get the project of the ground.

World ain't perfect, but Kickstart does offer new options meaning developers do not have to go to corporate overlords
