    That is quite laughable. Actually I have studied Islam, Judaism, Roman, Greek, Egyptian, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and of course Christianity.

    Josip, you are correct on some religions but most are to give you a sense of a way to act.

    ''Way to act'' and morals are two different things. A religion can have a list of ways you should act, but never claim that those ways are moral or immoral, so no morals aren't a basis fore all religions.

    Google =/= study

    Moral-of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior
    Moral-expressing or teaching a conception of right behavior

    Dude there is morals to the brothers grimm stories. Just because there is a moral into them doesn't mean they are based on it. Even in Harry Potter there are morals everyone could agree to (like exterminating muggles etc.). But the foundaional basis of every religion is the believe in a (or many) diety.

    Bringing us back to the point if "killing in the name of the deity" as Moses was told to do by god in the passage I linked, and you will agree that Moses as one of the key figures of the bible had a direct connection to god, is moral! If you thinkl, as you hinted not only here but in other topics aswell, that this action is moral because your god says so, than your religion has no morality.
    Oh yeah, you cant answer that in a way that your religion looks good, so this part of the bible is OBVIOUSLY not true.... I forgot that god allows you to arbitrarily forfeit some bible texts as it pleases you....

    Are you kidding me? Sharia law is a group of religious fundamentalist laws, which violates many times Human Rights. Those who are different (like gays or atheists) are completely fucked in such a system. Are you nuts? How can people speake of it as something "not that bad"?

    I don't think it should be a law for politics, I was just stating that morality is a basis of religion.

    Morality is bot a basis for all religions. On the last page Joshbrotisto just named a religion that was not based on morals. Some religions are based on morals, but not most.

    Not all the main ones. And anyway, by saying just the main ones are, you just proved my point that religion in and of itself is not based on morality.

    Who are you to decide which religions ought to be considered as the "main ones"? The arrogance....
