Naw, it's not going to happen. I think in 2013, we're all going to laugh at this like the joke that Y2K was 12 years ago. If anything, it may be a repeat of the Great Disappointment, this time for New Agers and youtube conspiracy theorists.

Remember when the world ended in 1844? That wasn't a fun day for a lot of people...

I dont believe in 2012, but I just wanna point out that the Mayans made a calendar more accurate than an atomic clock (or so I've been told)

If only. Those cretins never give up. I believe their new conspiracy is that 2012 isn't the apocolypse, it's the beginning of the end, and things you conveniently cannot see or know about will happen this year instead. Wait, there's a thread on here about some dodgy legislation by arch-socialist-muslim-nazi-mason Obama! It must all be true! The illuminati are coming to get us!

The Mayans couldn't even predict their own end so why would we expect them to know the worlds end day?

Just to clarify here the aztecs had calendars more effective then the mayans because the aztecs used the sun and created sun dial temples, while the mayans used the stars, Real men look directly at the sun to tell the time. Plus the Spanish didn't Fuck up the mayans. Fun fact: the aztecs united the Mexican tribes to curb the mayans power and defeated mayans incursion into Mexico until they scattered like flies until the Spaniards came.

Edit I forgot to mention that they tracked the movement of the sun and earth to make calendars, which was more effective, the sun dial temples was for local time.

fake fake fake, how could a society that didn't even have glass predict the end of the world but still not predict the Spanish conquering their empire with over 10 million people living in it with only 50 soldiers and 2 cannons

My brother's answer: They ran out of paper
My answer: The Mayans never say it is the end of the world, they say it is the start of a new age (meaning the end of the world as we know it). That means that we could just have a world changing event that day, and that event needs not harm a soul. Even if it does harm a soul I'm safe cause I'm a ginger :D
Anyhow I think its fake, but even if its real I'm not afraid.
