Despite hundreds of years of technological and civil 'advances' the physical and mental state of man has deteriorated significantly. This is more strongly pronounced in people who were born during the later half of the twentieth century and especially people who were born from the 1980s onward. The primary cause of this decline of character that we have witnessed has been technology and civil rights which has cheapened the value of hard work and meaningful freedom and a purposeful lifestyle. No longer does anyone make any effort to display the great oratory skills of the past cultures because that is not efficient and all this world seems to care about is efficiency, crudeness and 'practicality.' We no longer care about meaningful freedom anymore and most people seem to think it ought to be criminalized. Today, 'freedom' to most people means the 'freedom' for all of these special interest groups to become wage slaves and servants of the state.

Previous cultures didn't have these problems. The reason they did not have them is because they did not have advanced technology. Although great civilizations like Rome did have very advanced technology compared to primitive hunter-gatherer cultures the fact is that this technology was still crude and it required great effort to operate. Furthermore, the great civilizations of the past not only had a fascination with primitive cultures, but they appeared to have exalted them as superior or something to strive to emulate.

I have to agree with some of this, I mean its like nowadays being a piece of shit is cool or "fine". We advance in technology we take more things for granted. Civil rights are okay imo but some strive to achieve the impossible being impossible, it acts like society can so easily be changed, take it like this; I take clay but to change it into something great it takes time lots of time, I look at other past clay sculptures for inspiration and soon after all that hard work I come with something great(0r shitty idfk I guess it depends on taste.)

First, Rom, amazing post. Really, orgasmic.

Anyways, you seem to be lobbying that we should get rid of technology, and return to the point of no Technology, for the sake of good oratory skills?

Just because the way we do things has changed, doesn't mean that the new things are bad. >.>
