Generally, they classify a Christian as a radical fundamentalist if they merely believe in the literal interpretation of the Bible.
That is what a fundamentalist is, and I don't believe in everything in the Bible.

Well do you still believe that being homosexual is a sin? If you don't believe in everything in the bible it just means in the past you have decided to pick out the bad parts that cause prejudice and hate against people for being who they are and not hurting anyone with that and decided to believe in those parts. That's pretty much worse.

Actually, the belief sin of homosexuality named specifically as a sin does not come from the Bible. That interpretation comes from The Inferno, where Dante places sodomites in Hell. Just for reference and because I find it interesting how a non-dogmatic text has influenced modern Christianity. Unfortunately, I'll have to disagree with your second comment, mostly because I do it. I feel that it is making a choice as a sentient being with free will, akin to the way most people regard political candidates, disregarding parts of the platform which they dislike, but judging the candidate as a whole sufficient. However, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion, which I respect.
